Shattuck at Benilde, Thursday 2/10

Post by starmvp »

Last year Benilde kept it close but lost 4-2. This game is on Thursday, the day after Shattuck takes on Holy Angels. Will fatigue come in to effect? Thoughts, predictions....

There will be no fatigue for SSM, they are so conditioned. No problem.

No, their overall team defense. That includes forwards...

Not naming names.

Are you saying that one or two players make a defense good?

I have said this for as many years as Shattuck has played MSHL teams. ANY TEAM will lose a few. Yes, even Shattuck. It is fun to see MSHL teams play against Shattuck, the kids really get up for it. The Shattuck team is "used" to having to be up for any team of any calibur. The MSHL teams really get up to "beat" Shattuck, and they should! But again, as I said, it is only 1 game. Shattuck will lose a "few", but my estimate would be they beat a MSHL team 95% of the times they play them. But that few % of games that an AHA, Benilde, St. Thomas can play and beat them, sure makes it fun for the MSHL doesnt' it!!! So make your predictions and have fun with it. They should be good games!!

They are fun games to see, SSM is a treat to watch. There are occasional wins but SSM always carries the play. I'd like to see SSM play one of top 5 teams in the state so BSM should be a good game with action both ways. Shattuck against the state champ would be awesome.

Everything needs to go right for BSM to win this one, just like it did for Spring Lake Park last night. You can bet BSM will be energized, as in pi$$ed at the world and whoever they happen to be playing, which on this particular night happens to be SSM. Whether or not Benilde can channel their emotion in a positive manner remains to be seen.

shattuck just destroyed AHA and now on to the next. Will fatigue have any effect for SSM tonight against BSM?

They're used to traveling all over the country and Canada to play in tournaments in which they might play five games in three days. Two games in two days 60 miles from home will not have any effect. If anything, you wonder how Benilde will respond after their embarrassing defeat to Spring Lake Park.
