My sister played with Friend in some all-star tourney after the high school season had ended, apparently when she doesn't have the Tonka defense in front of her she's not all that she's cracked up to be. Imagine that, huh...

5 hole, you sound bitter. I've had a chance to see her play and can assure you it wasn't just her defense in front of her that makes her a special player. Granted, it doesn't hurt her, but it wasn't the only reason Minnetonka won games...she did a lot to help them too.

Gee, goalies play better when they know what to expect from their defensemen? Imagine that. That her exceptional play is in part due to integrating the strengths and weaknesses of her teammates raises her stock in my eyes.

The truth is, She did not do well at all in those senior games at all without her star studded D!

Well, Hanmer for one should help her out some at SCSU. Bigger challenge for the Huskies could be scoring. Alex Nelson needs to turn it up and become a leader...among others.

Seems a bit on the nasty side when talking about a High School kid, go on a NHL forum and trash on professionals if you feel the need to flame someone. Not saying people shouldn't be able to have opinions but this board (girls HS and youth) has been pretty good about not making negative comments about specific players.

Speaking of Tonka D, a bit scary for the rest of the Lake Cnfc that they all seem to be making national camps. With two solid returning netminders to boot looks like they might be favorites out of the gate (ouch it hurts to say that).

Not bashing! Don't get me wrong, She is a good goalie, and will do well at Saint Cloud.
I guess my point is it is easier to get more credit when you have top players around you,
Here are the goalie stats for the Senior classic, colored by team.

Woah woah woah, I never said she was bad or anything... Let's not take my comment out of hand. Obviously she was good enough to play in the senior classic and good enough to sign with the Huskies, but I don't feel as if she deserved the AP Player of the year award... just my opinion though.

fivehole628, the Senior Classic does not even figure into who wins the AP Player of the Year award or who makes the AP All State Team. It means nothing in the selection process. I personally believe she deserved the award, having had the best save percentage in the state and the best won/loss record in the state. Plus she played a major role in helping her team win the State Championship! What more can you ask?

Yes, I realize that. Thank you for the obvious 'point-out'. I thought, after watching her, Ramsey was very deserving of the award. She is one talented hockey player. She's heading to the 'U' correct?

Well, you brought it up so it wasn't obvious that you knew that.

I agree, Ramsey would have been very deserving as well. She did make the the AP All State Team, the Star Tribune's All Metro team and was a finalist for Ms. Hockey, and I'm probably forgetting a few others. And yes she will be playing for the Gophers starting this fall.

Who do you think deserved it then?
