What a weak goal to end it. How do you not stop that? At that level you should be able stop that puck even if you were screenedeast hockey wrote:After one period: UMD 2, Bemidji 1.

Re: WCHA Final Five
It was weak, but us Beaver fans will take a win anyway we get it! It was a great well fought game. I was pretty even between both teams and either team could have come away with a win.clutterbuck22 wrote:What a weak goal to end it. How do you not stop that? C'mon mule. You can't be serious.
Bemidji is a nice program with a great facility. But you can't tell me that the benefits, pay, and opportunities of being the Beaver coach outweighs being the coach of the Rodents, even if they do suck right now.
If that's the case, why would anyone want to come and coach the Gophers and bring them back to respectability?

Re: Analogy
Bemidji has made the NCAA tournament the last two years and was competitive their first year in the WCHA. If they manage to steal two more games, which is very unlikely, they will have made three straight dances. Sooner or later people will have to realize that they are an up and coming program.blueblood wrote:don't agree with your analogy. bemidji ain't that good.
more like urich coaching at hopkins, as they have a respectable team every now and then.

Wayzata ain't that good, 2 state appearances in school history.blueblood wrote:don't agree with your analogy. bemidji ain't that good.

Have a little love for the Beavers. Have excellent tradition and have made the adjustment to D1 and WCHA. Not the mighty gophers, but are extremely fun to watch and play as a team.

Denver 6, Bemidji State 2 (ENG)
The Beavers run is over. It was tied 2-2 going into the third.
The Sioux will be without Gregoire (undisclosed injury) tonight, as well as Rodwell and Rowney. However, Kristo is in the lineup for the first time in over a month after his frostbite scare. Defenseman Jake Marto and Joe Gleason are playing forward tonight, which they've done before. Even with 3 starters out, the Sioux lineup is stacked. That being said this game could go either way. The Sioux don't have a ton to play for and CC's tournament life is on the line.
Here's the Pairwise at this very moment:
1. Yale
2. North Dakota
3. Boston College
4. Michigan
5. Denver
6. Miami
7. Merrimack
8. Union
9. Notre Dame
10. Minnesota-Duluth
11. New Hampshire
12. Western Michigan
13. Nebraska-Omaha
14. Colorado College
15. Dartmouth
----
16. Rensselaer
17. Boston University
18. Maine
The top 11 are already locks. We'll know a lot more after tonight. If W. Michigan wins one game they're in. CC doesn't have to win tonight to get in. Dartmouth is probably going to have to win at least one. RPI can still sneak in if Western Michigan and/or Dartmouth go without a win. It's going to take a lot for BU or Maine to get in.

Matt Frattin GWG. How fitting. Regardless of tomorrows outcome UND be a #1 seed and Denver will be a #2 seed. So there really isn't any pressure on either team; which should mean a high-flying and clean game. The Broadmoor trophy is on the line (which means something), but neither team is going to risk injuries so I don't expect Gregoire to play (which is a huge edge for Denver).PuckU126 wrote:UND wins 4-3 over CC
Good game; refs kept their whistles in their pockets the last few minutes.
Should be a great final game with Denver and UND.

However, a clean Sioux game?

As a Sioux fan, I of course will be pulling for them, but like what you mentioned, I hope they stay healthy going into the NCAAs.

east hockey wrote:Crap effort by the Dogs today, and if Reiter is the man in nets, they're one and done in the NCAA. They're a good team but the goaltending and defense keep them from being a great team.

Reiter has been great and was decent in this game (penalty shot stop) , but the players really didnt feel like they needed to win. It was a really conservative game from what I saw, dump and change, dump and change, dump and change all day... boring. I dont think the Bdogs really wanted to win because they didnt need to. Maybe they felt they wanted to stay healthy? I dont know but it was boring to watch and uncharacteristic of their style of play.
go dogs!
Hopefully we see a minnesota team at the x on april 7th!

Denver - 2
UND - 3
FINAL 2OT
Matt Frattin with yet another GWG. If UND can beat a really good Denver team without 3 forwards then they're in good shape. Dell and Brittian were fantastic. I honestly think these are two of the best four teams in college hockey along with BC and Miami. I'm not quite sold on Yale because of their weak schedule.
