State Tourney PA
Ok, I've got a question, and I realize this may be sacrilege to even ask in Minnesota; but who does the Public Address announcing at the state tournament? I for the life of me can't remember.

I don't care for Dave Wright, too loud and screechy. The other guy is OK.
The guy they had before for as long as I could remember had some sweet pipes. He had a smooth voice and delivery, like Herb Carneal. He added to the atmosphere but didn't try to get any of the spotlight.
There was an interveiw of him in the tournament one year. In it he said the only time he feared not being impartial was the '84 quarterfinal between hill and Johnson. I think he'd gone to Johnson, and he asked someone to let him know if he started to show his bias. He was a class act.
I can't recall is name right now. Dick something.

Agreed. Dave Wright screams with a God-awful nasally voice.East Side Pioneer Guy wrote:I don't care for Dave Wright, too loud and screechy. The other guy is OK.

The guy you are thinking of is Dick Stanford. He did have an outstanding PA voice. It's a shame he isn't there anymore.
