How bad is St. Cloud Tech?
Their schedule is amuzing because it's a mix of great teams like BSM, East, Roseau, Warroad, Brainerd, Bemidji, Moorhead and then they play teams so weak i don't want to mention them...will they win 5 games this year?

Their on the decline, they lost a huge group of seniors who were basically their whole team, their a very young and inexpierenced team, its gonna be a rought year for the boys on the south side of St Cloud and for the first time in 21 games (10 years), St Cloud Apollo beat them, the tides are changing in St Cloud.

i thought well...maybe BSM is just that loaded and good which they are but for tech to lose to apollo...well i just that deserved a little plug on here. i don't forsee them being worse than apollo long term with most growth happening on the south side of st. cloud. i do think cathedral will always be the best team in st. cloud for the rest of eternity because no one in their right might would send their kid to district 742 right now unless they can't afford cathedral or just dont see the value in avoiding the circus they call a school district. i will be curious to see what kind of mercy duluth east shows tonight...could be a nice game to pad some stats.GordonBombay99 wrote:Their on the decline, they lost a huge group of seniors who were basically their whole team, their a very young and inexpierenced team, its gonna be a rought year for the boys on the south side of St Cloud and for the first time in 21 games (10 years), St Cloud Apollo beat them, the tides are changing in St Cloud.

Benilde and Duluth East are two of the top AA teams in Minnesota this year. They are both talented with very experienced line ups.northern_guy wrote:i thought well...maybe BSM is just that loaded and good which they are but for tech to lose to apollo...well i just that deserved a little plug on here. i don't forsee them being worse than apollo long term with most growth happening on the south side of st. cloud. i do think cathedral will always be the best team in st. cloud for the rest of eternity because no one in their right might would send their kid to district 742 right now unless they can't afford cathedral or just dont see the value in avoiding the circus they call a school district. i will be curious to see what kind of mercy duluth east shows tonight...could be a nice game to pad some stats.GordonBombay99 wrote:Their on the decline, they lost a huge group of seniors who were basically their whole team, their a very young and inexpierenced team, its gonna be a rought year for the boys on the south side of St Cloud and for the first time in 21 games (10 years), St Cloud Apollo beat them, the tides are changing in St Cloud.
Tech has three returning players that skated a regular shift last year. Tech was overmatched and outplayed by both teams. Tech had fourteen seniors graduate last year.
Apollo has fourteen seniors on their team this year. They upset #1 rated Little Falls last year in Sections. Apollo beat Tech this week 6-4 in an ugly, penalty filled rivalry game Tuesday night. Tech had won the last twenty two meetings.
Apollo lost to Little Falls this year 3-0.
Cathedral was losing to Little Falls last week 3-1 in the third period until Little Falls ran into penalty trouble at the end of the game. Cathedral was lucky to win 4-3.
Cathedral has a nice, experienced team this year that will need to find a way to get by Rogers and Hermantown to reach the Excel where Breck will probably hammer them like they did two weeks ago.
Maybe if they chose to schedule a few games with AA teams they would better prepare themselves for Sections. They probably won't gain much by playing Mora and Litchfield.
Some reasons why people from St.Cloud, Sartell and Sauk Rapids choose not to send their kids to Cathedral are...
1.) Cathedral only has five A.P. classes available, Tech and Apollo have twenty five.
2.) Not everyone in everyone in the area is Catholic.
3.) Cathedral is located on a railroad track in a tougher part of town.
4.) They have some good athletic teams but they all choose to play in smaller classes even though they draw their kids from a population of 100,000 people.
5.) Parents and players on the hockey team are not very happy that a Sophomore transfer who did not change his address has been allowed to play on the Varsity team by suing the MSHSL over a ridiculous made up bullying charge.
As far as the horrible District 742 goes, the captain if this year's football team is trying to decide if he should go to college at Harvard or Princeton. His older brother goes to Yale. The captain of the Girls Hockey team a few years ago is now a surgeon.
As far as Cathedral being a automatic scholastic gem, the captain of the Boys hockey team from a few years ago was selling chocolate milk in convenicence stores last year.
This was a pretty classless thread for you to start.
Good luck to Cathedral tonight against Lourdes.
It's too bad that they have one bitter, sniveling fan like you who can't spell or put together a sentence.
