I havent gotten to any games this year unfourtantly so everything I know is from second hand. they have a very good goalie and have played solid hockey thus far. could make some noise in section 7AA.LetsPlayHockey22 wrote:Crimson what's your take on Andover? I haven't gotten a chance to see them play yet this year but from my understanding they have a very solid goaltender. Does he carry the team, or do they have a fairly decent squad this year?
Watched 'em last week at Armstrong. They are fast and YOUNG! Just 4 Seniors with a 9th grader and lots of 10th graders playing. Good this year but should be really good for the next couple. As a team they kinda reminded me of watching Ben Marshall this year - some WOW! moments with the occasional total breakdown mixed in. The potential is definitely there.

Wow that was a very exciting second period!!!
I'm sure the Red Nights will come out for the third with a fire lit under them. Hopefully the Crimson will as well!!!

Howdy.
I've been reading these forums infrequently for awhile. Figured today I'd register and jump into the discussion.
I went to the Blaine/Anoka game tonight. Blaine was fast and physical, and for the first half of the game controlled much of the play.
But where a team like EP or Edina would have put Anoka away, Blaine just couldn't generate many quality scoring chances. They would keep the puck in the offensive zone and generate a couple of shots, but they were often from poor angles or shots where the goalie's vision was unobstructed.
As the game went on, Anoka was able to actually turn things around and get some pretty decent pressure despite looking generally hapless -- sloppy decision making, poor breakouts, passes rarely on the tape, etc.
I missed the game vs. Coon Rapids that Blaine won in OT, but a top-ten team should not struggle like this against these types of teams. I don't know what was going on with Blaine tonight, but they sure didn't have their A game.
That said, this was my first game of the year. Maybe as I see more my opinion will change. But tonight Blaine sure didn't look like they belong at #10.

I was not at the CR game last night, but I was told 2 of there top players are injured and apparently sidelined for a couple of weeks.Maple Grove Crimson#1 wrote:Im not sure whats going on with Blaine either. I know there a young team but North Metro just beat Coon Rapids in OT. not sure what to think about them. plenty of season left and im sure they will get better as the season rolls along.
