Section 5AA as I see it

Post by Maple Grove Crimson#1 »

Section 5AA as of December 23rd

I see it split into 4 divisions right now.

The Clear Front runner

Maple Grove Crimson (8-0-1)

Key wins: Edina, Blaine, Centennial, BSM.
Scare wins: Andover
Unresolved: Wayzata (tie)
Bad Losses: none

Just taking care of Business. Stl Park Rec Holiday Classic next week. rematch with BSM?

---------------------------
Contender's?

Blaine Bengals (6-1)

Key Wins: Elk River/Zimmerman, Osseo
Scare wins: Roseau, Coon Rapids, Anoka
Unresolved: none
Bad losses: none

Blaine seems to struggle at times yet there 6-1 and still the champs til someone knocks them off. Schwan Cup Gold Bracket next week.
-----------------------------------

Centennial Cougars (3-4-1)

Key Wins: none
Scare Wins: none
Unresolved: Bloomington Jefferson (tie)
Bad Losses: none.

Tough Schedule: only team that has played the #1,2,3 ranked teams thus far. Stl Park Rec Holiday Classic next week.
-------------------------------------

No Mans Land

Osseo Orioles (5-3)

Key Wins: none
Scare wins: none
Unresloved: none
bad losses: none

The Orioles seem totally stuck in the middle of this section, beating the teams they should and losing to the teams they should. there a lock at the #4 seed in section 5AA. Warroad Invitational next week
----------------------------------------

The Rest

North Metro
Coon Rapids
Anoka (most disappointing team)
Champlin Park
Irondale

Anoka gave Blaine a close game, but I still expected much more out of them this year. I thought they would be similar to Osseo the past 2-3 years. But as of now I don't see anyone getting by Maple Grove if they make it to the championship game. And if they do get out of 5AA this season, I think they have a legitimate chance to make a run at the title.

Maple Grove has the ultimate equalizer. And it is the man standing behind the players. Collar gets a little tight at the state fair grounds every year.

I don't think there is any way MG doesn't go this year - as it stands now. Of course injuries, etc. could change that but I think they will use past year(s) to motivate them and make sure the finish the deal.
