The ever relevant Howie Hack Hanson has 4-5 thrilling facebook debates (getting ripped new ones) going on regarding his ranking of Hermantown and Marshall School of Duluth above Duluth East. Lets settle it here with people who (most of them ;) know hockey. Would DM or Hermantown defeat Duluth East this year? Should they be ranked ahead of East? Discussion?

Should be one option added: East beats Hermantown in a close game, beats Marshall easily.

I'd also petition for the option "Who cares? It was written by someone who is desperate for attention and will write anything to get it."

I got a good laugh out of his Facebook debates.

I just went and had a quick look at his Facebook page. Holy crap!

He's worse than we thought, and I didn't think that was possible. :)

Not only with this topic but he also has Moose Lake (#125 in the latest PS2) ranked at #9 ahead of Virginia and International Falls in his local rankings. I wonder if he realizes the Rebels have losses to hockey stalwarts Silver Bay, Legacy Christian, Northern Lakes, and Robbinsdale Cooper?

I agree, this one would get my vote.

You got me curious so I went over there to look. Interesting stuff. I usually don't pay attention to the guy since he mainly focuses on the Duluth area. But it is pretty transparent from reading his remarks that he has an ax to grind with East. Not only is his argument weak from the start but then he starts going off on other things about East which tells me it isn't solely about the on ice product.

In sum... he's more clueless than I realized. That's for alerting me to it... I got a good chuckle for about five minutes out of it. :)

Hermantown / East just a good game to watch. East would have to work to beat them.

If both of these teams go undefeated and win their respective state titles, there will be an outcry by the Minnesota Hockey community for them to play.....I doubt it would ever materialize, but none the less.....

This guy is a nutter and its funny how many people take him seriously (because one person taking him seriously would be funny). He said Jack Forbort is the next Wayne Gretzky. That's all you really need to hear to realize the guy is unhinged. Then you pile on all his other stuff and you have a solid case.

1. this howie guy is obsessed with the topic of h-town vs d-east
2. i cant believe he has 3840 face book friends.
3. if i was a parent, and he "be-friended" my son i would question his motives. he looks like a child molester. sorry, the balding head does it. shave it and throw int he towel.
4. did the entire d-east team show up in howies drive way and take a poop in it and thats why he hates them so bad?

his deductive reasoning on the scores against grand rapids and d-east and h-town is funny and means nothing. i too would love to see the two teams play just to shut everyone up.

The issue isn't that anyone thinks East would lose and wants to see it happen, the issue is simply that the games around happening for silly reasons. Had these match ups happened, in the last 10 years East would've been favored in all 20 of the games.

Starting a thread with this question, did you expect anything else? Through 105 posts in the thread that got locked not a single person suggest Hermantown would beat East. There are likely few outside the communities of these two schools who think they'd win any more than maybe 2 out of 10 games against East, probably even some in the community.

Yeah, he uses those scores and then conveniently ignores that East beat STA and Marshall was beaten soundly by STA, but he still has Marshall ahead of East. It is sad.
