I must say I'm a little surprised Irondale only made the #6 seed. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see them in the section final versus Anoka.

I would be suprised if Mounds View didn't beat Irondale in the QT final. I looked at irondales schedule and they played a few tough games but never really had that big win. Maybe it will come in the playoffs.

I could be wrong, but I think Irondale played and beat Mounds View in a thanksgiving tournament 2-1, which does not show up on hockey hub. My daughter was at the game, which is why it sticks in my memory. Mounds View certainly can beat them, but watch out for super sophmore Samantha Donovan.

KRACH said the same for the first and last three spots. The middle three order is different. Head-to-head/Common Opponents considerations (#1 & #2 in seeding criteria) probably made a difference here :

MV lost to Coon Rapids then Irondale beat Coon Rapids 2-1 the next day. I see a lot of opportunities for "upsets" in this section. 2 thru 7 really is who is ready to play that night. Also pack a lunch, too. 3 quaterfinals went OT last year. One game, 4- Irondale/5- Blaine went 4 OT's.

Thanks for correcting me. Living here in Blaine, Coon Rapids is another rival that we like to beat, so that's where the memory came from. Should be a fun section though...

FYI..Blaine lost to Irondale in OT, It was Centennial losing to Anoka in 4OT. Game got over well past midnight. Should be a tough road for all the teams in this section....

Yes I knew it was Blaine lost 3-2. 4/5 was seeding, I didn't make it clear, sorry. Irondale/Blaine did go 4OT's. It set everything back all day as the next two games also went into OT, also. It could be a long day for all involved. Look at the goalies in the the top of the leaderboard. Scoring will be tough.

Irondale beat Blain in 4 overtimes
Anoka beat Mounds view in two overtimes I think
Centennial beat Andover
