Gotta give them credit. Looks legit to me this early in the season.

I think Minnetonka will have a tough time keeping their spot in the rankings

Andover should be higher.

I like where Andover is at. They need to prove to me they are more than a goalie that can handle all the shots a lousy defense allows. Cloquet should be higher, and they'll move up in a hurry. People don't realize just how good their top line will be. I think they'll be better than the line of Karlsson-Johnson-Jokenin from 06-07. I think Grand Rapids is in the right place. On paper they can compete with anyone, but after last years loss to Forest Lake and home loss to Hibbing down the stretch I question their work ethic and desire. The difference this year is Hunter Shepard might be enough to bail them out when the rest of the team puts in a half-assed effort. If Elk River can get good goaltending they will compete for a seed in the top 3.

Indeed they did. To LPH's credit, they seem to be getting better at this. Their preseason rankings certainly outperformed mine. I'd like to think I did a better job of responding in-season than they did, but I'll do a more proper review after the Tourney. The rankings they put out this week are virtually identical to mine from Sunday.

Yes. I agree 100% with this. You were much more responsive to the actual results.

This did not go unnoticed as well. You were out in front with these, and they did indeed follow suit. I would think you earned some influence over the season

I can dream, can't I? It's hard to know who reads them and who doesn't, and how much stock people put in them. (To the extent that any of us put any real stock in something like a ranking, of course...I have no delusions of grandeur here.) From what I've gathered over the years, some people in the media enjoy perusing this forum and some of the insights that come out of it, while others dismiss it out of hand. All I can really do is keep on putting out the rankings and trying to win converts. :)

To that extent, this was a nice home for them

Yes, working with MNHockeyProspects for these past two seasons has been great--it's a very nice platform for the rankings, and it comes with other perks (namely, a spot in the press box at State). It's also been fun to be part of a growing website on MN hockey. Speaking of which...it was good to see the report on some big news out of Eagan today!

Yup. We are all very happy for Zach. Excellent that he will be joining Will Merchant at Maine, another former Mr. Hockey candidtate from Eagan.

I should probably start a thread on that ...
