And if Wayzata wins convincingly over BSM, will they get the #1 ranking with HM technically tying STA(A)? Who would of thunk it? I'll take the Red Knights 5-3 but good luck Karl. I look forward to the rankings this week as we approach the half way point of the regular season.

Thanks Bonehead. First time I've had a problem. Guess theres no need to continue trying since this one is over.

Does Karl put Wayzata at #1 given the thumping and a HM tie and how far does BSM fall (7 or 8 maybe)? Generally BSM is offensively strong but defensively they've been exposed time and time again this year. They certainly miss the twin towers in Glover and Collins who could play some defense first.

If they go that high they won't stay there - their upcoming schedule is brutal!

Haven't seen a lot of 'em but tonight their defense is a thing of beauty.

Scoring....7 to 1 now.

A complete thumping by the Trojans.

Wayzata's defense and goaltending is the real deal.

Offense has come alive.

looking forward to the upcoming games against Hill Murray, Burnsville, BSM again and the Lake.

Nice 1st half of the season. Keep up the great work.

Great win tonight!!

Mn hockey center is terrible for watching online. OTSN was 100% better

I think Wayzata deserves the #1 spot after this performance. Technically, Hill has a loss and a tie while Zata just has one loss (their first game of the season). It's a toss up but I think Wayzata deserves it.

Pete Wagoner does a nice job and calls a good game. Hopefully they get all the bugs out as they expand this new venture.

Does it matter to you that the loss and tie are both to the same team?
And that the team they recently tied beat the team (Edina) who beat Wayzata?

It was the first game of the season, so I'd say no, but it's really a coin flip at this point in my opinion.

Whether goaltending or defense is the issue for Benilde, we'll see. Interesting to see if Wayzata can beat them again this Thursday!

Saturday was just 0ne of those nights when everything went in the net and nothing went in against you. Sometimes momentum just keeps rolling. Benilde had over 90 shot attempts compared to around 40 for Wayzata, look for more of those pucks to find the back of the net Thursday. Wayzata will sell out and try to block everything and play great D but this time Benilde wins. Also, hopefully the refs let them play a bit more. Benilde is playing the exact same way they did last year at this time. Maple Grove came in and did the same thing to BSM where everything went in for a 6 minute span of 2nd. BSM will get the systems straight before playoff time. Look for BSM line changes again as the new lines did not seem to fit.

The problem I saw was the type of shots BSM was taking. Throw a long shot on goal and yes, it's a shot but it's also an offensive zone turnover when there's no one following up.

Good observation. Benilde also was taking a lot of bad angle shots on the power play which an opponent will give to you all night long.
