Duluth East Goaltending?

Post by allstatebenders »

I saw the backup goalie Cason Sjerven in tonight instead of Parker. Anyone know why? Just curious. He had 10 shots on goal on him and stopped 9. The goal was a deflection of a defender. Hounds won 10-1

Exactly. They're in the midst of their second straight 3-game week, and this was by far the easiest opponent out of those six games. Cason filled in well tonight, and it was nice to see the 9-goal eruption in the second period. They also rested the top line for the entire third period, and a bunch of JV kids got to play.

It sounded like AV had some kids out sick, though I doubt that would've affected the end result all that much.

I don't think so, no. Perhaps a more distant relation.

Didn't he move in from Sartell?

Dylan Parker did. But he was asking about Sjerven, who, to my knowledge, is a Duluth native.

Parker got pulled today vs. Superior after he only stopped 3 out of 6 shots, Sjerven came in and stopped the rest and the Hounds won 10-3.

didn't think that parker would have as good of stats as last year, i think his numbers were a bit inflated because of the team in front of him last year

To some extent that has to be true, but Parker has made national camps in his life. He seems to be in a rut right now. We'll see who gets the start against Forest Lake next Tuesday.

Very very true about Parker. Personally, I hope Sjerven gets the start, he's been in the program his whole life and ya never know what a kid can do until you put him out there. Hope Parker bounces back from whatever he's going through now though.
