Regardless of what really happened that caused the suspensions the school district is not handling this well and needs to bring in an outside investigator to put all the rumors to rest if indeed they are just rumors. The article in todays story has conflicting comments, the school board says noting illegal happened yet the Maple Grove Police department comments suggest they were never part of the investigation and know nothing about it. The school district should not be determining the legality of events that may or may not have transpired.
I am not sure what role the MN State High School played in the investigation to determine what did happen. In any case the air needs to be cleared on this since it will only continue to spiral out of control because of social media.

How will we know when this threshold has been reached? When it is on Fox News?Until a more reputable news source puts out more details, I suggest we avoid further speculation. We ought to walk a fine line when it comes to spreading rumors about high school students on the internet, to say nothing of compliance with the Data Privacy Act.
