Regions playoffs for AA/A teams

Post by pond98 »

Does anyone know if the teams at go to Regions are the same for both AA & A teams? Minnesota hockey has the Region breakdown For AA but nothing for A. If they are, there are some interesting seedings as #4 team from D6 goes to the South region and the #1 thru 3 go to the East.

The info is on page 40 Mn Hockey Handbook, it does list more than one year. Districts in column A and B get 3 seeds and Column C 2.

I dont believe the AA and A are the same because those extra seeds (ex: D6 #4 and D10 #4 ) are handed out to those districts because districts like D9 and D4 dont have enough AA teams they their district was slotted for. So they gave those Districts extra regional births due to the number of AA teams they have and put them where the D9 and D4 teams would've been.

I dont believe this is the case is the "A" regions... I could be wrong..

Same thing happened last year before the whole AA/A thing.. Regions were to be D6, D9 and D4 but since D4 didnt have any A teams at the Bantam level D6 and D9 each got 4 Regional births...
