I'm curious how many section seedings matched up exactly with KRACH rankings. Also, why don't the sections mandate that they just use KRACH so there isn't any malarkey at seeding meetings.
I know they use QRF for football seedings...

So, head-to-head and common opponents performance are more important than the KRACH components of #3 record and SOS. I suppose that KRACH partially applies to #2, but doesn't explicitly apply to #1. I imagine #4 would include recent record (i.e., who is playing the best right now) and missing players for certain games, also items which KRACH does not address.My memory is fading, but this was how I remember 10 of these sessions going:
1) Consider head-to-head
2) Common opponents (score diff if similar W/L/T results)
3) Strength of schedule & overall record
4) Other accomplishments and/or extenuating circumstances faced
(Computerized rankings were rarely, if ever, discussed)
Coaches rank every team but their own, usually high and low ranks are thrown out as to not skew the average.
Coaches usually were able to first give a couple minute high-level summary of their season and where they see their team falling.
P.S. I like KRACH, but it's not perfect and doesn't do it all.

I agree it doesn't do it all, but I know these things get political (conference bias and numbers, scratching each others backs etc.). If QRF is good enough for football...sinbin wrote:

What if they took a combined QRF + Krach and then seed that way? Add the two together to get the lowest totals.
