probably good like every year. I'm not so sure about their goalie though. He doesn't seem too commited to me? who knows though

We played them this summer in cloquet and they looked very sharp. If everything goes right their should be no reason they shoulldn't be chasing another title in March

I'm guessing it would be nice to throw out the bone to those kids in surrounding communities to see if they would wanna play with DM. My question (which Im curious about) is how many of the kids on DM are NOT from Duluth?

The Slinger

ESB.... I feel ya on that one... its the never ending debate about private vs. public, which we know will never be solved. It will be interesting to see how the privates stack up this season!

-The SLinger

Not Really Lost

Post by EREmpireStrikesBack »

They lost all their offense? Who are you kidding? Yes, they lost two important parts, but they bring a lot back. And with their D & goaltending, offense won't be a major concern.

And they will be playing at State again this year. No doubt in my mind.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... kesBack at: 11/1/05 10:34 pm

marshall will be good that is no question but they wont be close to what they were last year...the only plus they have is a returning goaltender and maybe a few D...who is going to score?

Haha, you crack me up man. You know soooo much about Marshall. Only plus is a returning goalie and D? Haha, that is a pretty damn big plus, but they return a heullva lot more than just that. They lost 2 big guys, but its not like nobody else scored last year and that noone else was able to get better or anything. When you know your stuff, you can come back and talk. Until then, stick to reading.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

teams like duluth Marshall don't rebuild, they reload. Sure they lost Chris and Scott. But what you don't realize is that the year before last, they lost big name players Scotty Paul, Bryan Sederberg, Brandon Johnson, and Dan Moline. Sure DM lost Connolly and Kozlak...but SCC lost Schmidt and Rindelaub. DM returns Ritts, Jack Connolly, Gutsch, and their top two D
2A

I think DM will have a pretty good season, and will be quite competitive, however, I don't think they will be making a State Tournament run again anytime soon.

From what I've heard, they have quit fighting to get players out of East Duluth, and have turned their attentions to the other side of town.

I think they have some outstanding players there right now this year, but it might be the end of their run.

Connolly, Ritts, Letourneo, Jones are all pretty good, Kevin Mahoney(?) is probably the best of the group. But lets face it these were all role players last year on that team. Can they provide the offense that Kozlak, and C. Connolly did?

I guess we'll see soon, I hope that we can get three Duluth teams down to St. Paul this March!

Section 7AA Duluth East
Section 7A Duluth Marshall
Section 2A Duluth Denfeld (I know its a stretch, but smalley is a good guy, and I'd like to see him have success)
