High School Program that has produced most D1?

Post by joehockey »

I saw Hill Murray's Sarah Bobrowski has committed to Lindenwood.

Has there ever been a thread on who has produced the most D1 players and who they were?

Would the leader be South St. Paul, Roseville, Eden Prairie?

As Examples
Anoka - ?

BSM - ?

Blake - ?

Breck - ?

Cretin Derham Hall
'06 Paula King??
'08 Kelly Wild
'08 BrittneyCarlson

Hill Murray School - 4?
(I don't know pre-'09 if there were any?)
'09 Casey Knajdek, UConn (just graduated)
'09 Jess Herron, UND (1 season)
'10 Maggie Pendleton, Providence
'12 Hannah Brandt, Minnesota
'14 Sarah Bobrowski, Lindenwood

Stillwater
'06 Chelsey Jones, NU & Minnesota
'09 Cassie Dahl, SCSU
'10 Kristy King, Maine & BSU (2 seasons total)

Looks like a good start but i noticed some missing off the 2012 d1 commitment. I'd look back on this forum and find the topic.

Is that just players who went through the Os program and went on to college hockey, or all college hockey players?

There's lots of homework to do since Roseville goes back to 1995.

Sorry to be such a homer but we are pretty proud of our alums, how well they have done academically and at the rink, and how they still come back every summer and holiday season. Not at all unusual to have as many alum parents as current parents in the stands on game nights. All starts with having great people on staff stay for the long haul. Although we dont have very many kids coming up there are some really good ones so hopefully they can keep it going for a bunch more years.

Ok so this looks like the list for Hopkins with 12 which puts them at 2nd behind Roseville. Anyone have SSP - who might challenge Roseville?

Bredice I couldn't find at Princeton but did find one at Cornell but home town was Edina and T-Breds was prior team?

Hopkins - 12
1997 Jenny Hemple, Duluth
2002 Laura Stroessner, Princeton
2006 Kathryn Farni, Harvard
2007 Katie Bredice, Cornell (Edina & T-Breds?)
2008 Jenna Peterson, MSU Mankato
2009 Becky Kortum, Minnesota
2010 Missy Mankey, RPI
2010 Kallie Billadeau, Syracuse
2010 Cara Johnson, Syracuse
2011 Marielle Mankey, RPI
2012 Allison Rolandelli, Brown
2014 Nina Rogers, Minnesota

I believe EP had about 10 or 11 D1 kids just on its 2006-2007 roster.

Tonka probably has come close to Hopkins or surpassed them in D1 in just the past 3-4 years and the current group. Still likely behind Roseville, with their impressive head start. EP had a big group in the mid 2000's. SSP I'm sure had a bunch. Warroad, private B's, Edina? Sounds like a nice database project for someone . . .

SSP has a team record book so I went through it came up with a number by searching the USCHO player database.

South St. Paul - 14

1999 Sarah Alquist, Princeton
1999 Kelly Kegley, Wisconsin
2001 Erika Hockinson, Yale
2002 Ashley Albrecht, Minnesota
2002 Liz Funk, North Dakota
2003 Sammy Miller, Mankato
2004 Amanda Stohr, Mankato
2005 Maggie Fisher, Mankato
2005 Felicia Nelson, Mankato
2005 Ashley Young, Mankato
2006 Jonnie Bloemers, Boston University
2006 Annie Bauerfeld, Bemidji
2006 Jackie Robertson, Bemidji
2011 Sam LaShomb, North Dakota

There were a couple of other players whose names showed up in the database but didn't play in any games so I didn't count them. I may have missed others so SSP's number could be higher.

I think she was 2006 Hopkins grad that did a post grad year with the t-breds. I know she skates in the alumni games so I am pretty sure she was here.
