Blaine jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead which was followed by a penalty call then some after the whistle antics. Two MG players got 5 and 10 ejections and one got a 5 and 5 and 10 ejection. Blaine ended up with one player getting 4 and one getting 2 and 10. I think the refs got it right. Blaine then scored several PP goals.
Final Blaine over MG 9-3.
It might take a couple hours for the scoresheet to get entered on this one. I expect that MG may be a few players short serving suspensions.
What are the rules for serving suspensions for fighting?

Re: Blaine vs MG
Interesting, I was right on the corner where all the action was and there was Lau throwing the initial punch that got the MG goalie throwing them in return (no excuses for what came after). Looked like the goalie was just jawing with Lau at first. No doubt the kid know how to stir it up and this time get away with only two, even when landing the first punch.my2cents wrote:Blaine jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead which was followed by a penalty call then some after the whistle antics. Maybe Lau did get in a first punch and he probably had some choice words as well. And yes, there is no excuse for what happened afterwards. Lau was being held defenseless by one MG player while the goalie was throwing hard punches to the neck and head from behind. This was round two after the refs had already calmed things down and broken things up. Nice touch.
According to Hub, 6 players from MG got 10's. I thought 3 were in the box serving the 5 minutes for the ejected players, but I guess not. Shouldn't there have been three more in the box serving the 5 minutes, or does that only apply only to 2 and 10s - or - does it not apply when players are ejected? It would have left MG with only 5 or 6 skaters for 5 minutes had players served the 5 minute penalties on behalf of the ejected players.

2cents - as has been the case for several games this season, the hub doesn't have the MG penalties correct. Only three players were ejected. The Hub lists the players that served the penalties as having incurred them in addition to the players that did incur the penalties. Don't assume the information on the Hub is accurate or complete.
