Ahhhh, one more day until I'm a temporary resident of St. Paul for 4 days. Alary's, Reid's, Eagle Street, Liffey, and McGovern's...you are on my list. Probably time for a stop at Savoy too.

Besides the obvious Xcel Center...where is everyone's favorite places to frequent?

Besides the obvious Xcel Center...where is everyone's favorite places to frequent?

If you want to get away from the Tourney crowd (don't know why) yet still stay within walking distance of the X...might try Amsterdam Bar and Hall on 6th and Wabasha. Definitely not a sports bar, but it's got a friendly unpretentious vibe, killer fries, and good happy hour.

One block further east from Savoy's there's a permanently parked taco truck across from the Downtowner car wash. Great take-out food...a cheap cultural experience for anyone who hasn't tried beef tongue quesadillas or beef brain tacos.

The American Burger Bar on Wabasha has a good menu. Prices and portions are good, nice atmosphere. It won't be shoulder to shoulder like McGovern's.

The Minnesota Twins on the dinner menu is great. They'll split it for two and won't charge extra for it.

I hiked over to Savoy for the first time last year. Delicious.

Not sure yet where I'll venture between sessions, but somehow, I think I'll enjoy myself.

I usually stay with friends in Minneapolis, but sometime I'll have to splurge on a St. Paul hotel room to have the proper post-game experience.
