Lakeville North @ Hill Murray

No thread on this one?

Great game to watch between two excellent and balanced teams.

LN wins 4-3.

And who is this #23 with no name on his sweater?

I thought Panthers outplayed the Pioneers much more than the score indicated. SOGS and time of possession were heavily in their favor.

Their size and skill is dominant. Definitely deserving of #1 ranking. They may not lose again this season

An interesting sidebar was neither team scored on a power play.

Nick Poehling had the hat trick . Kyler Yeo came up with a goal for the Pioneers

LN vs. HM

I have a feeling his dad will be watching more of the HM games in January if the Wild don't sweep Winnipeg...

Agreed, WestMetro.

HM couldn't bring the physical game because LN was too fast for them.

Even so, the number of loose pucks left between the circles in front of the LN goal was alarmingly high.

What do you mean neither team scored on the power play? LVN had 2. Very impressed with both of LV's PP units, too. Each of them were tic tac toe goal all day long, Hill couldn't clear it. Though later in the game Hill did get a couple penalty kills. I got there late, but just in time to see LV score the first goal through the chain links. I said "Let me guess, one of the Sedins." Not that it's a bold prediction, but sure enough, Henrik, from both Daniel & the third triplet. I'm not a LVN fan, but those kids are dangerous and fun to watch. Some other notes, as stated above, LV used their size to their advantage. Some big hits from Panthers' bigger guys to Pioneers' smaller guys. I do like #20 on Hill Brock Bremer, at 5'5" but quite the skater, I declare him the Martin St. Louis of the league. I don't feel like Hill was intimidated despite being the smaller team. They fought until last buzzer & came close to a GTG. LV very deserving of their #1 rank. I think if anybody is going to beat them, they will have to play incredibly disciplined and not let them have a man advantage. Terrible idea. Liked both goalies, didn't see much weakness there. Wendlandt very fast recovery for a kid who's 6'3". That's about all I got for now. Not that anyone gets to pick & choose their section, but I really dislike LV's free ride to state. Some of the toughest challenges these kids face are in some rough & dangerous section semi final & final games. Sometimes quarter final. The Panthers have quite the luxury down in 1AA.

Unfortunately, the Pioneers had to play without Zach Mills who was out sick. Was nice to see the kids keep battling after falling behind 4-1. LN was definitely the better team. 2 power play goals and one just after a power play had ended for LN.
