Big Wes left us on the 6th…

Any of us that attend high school hockey games have seen him at an arena at some point in our life..

He was a huge fan. he loved many other high school sports..

he watched me play in the early 80's and his attendence at my games was greatly appreciated.

many of us have had conversations with him. he was honest, blunt at times, but always the best fan of high school hockey and its players…

i'll miss seeing him at the rinks..

February 6, 1951 - January 6, 2015 Age 63, Survived by loving family: mother Mary; siblings Diane Anderson (Dennis), Debra Guither, James (Colleen), Julie; and nephews/nieces Joshua Guither, Heidi Symons, Blake Guither, Jesse, Kyle Guither, Lucas Anderson, Kelly Cross, Lauren, Noah Guither. Wes' love of life was sports. He was actively involved coaching Cretin/Rand-View youth baseball teams and was a well-known personality at hockey arenas around the Twin Cities. Memorial visitation at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue South, Edina, MN 55435, on Saturday February 7th, 2:00 - 4:00 PM, memorials to Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota.

Wes was a legend. Definitely gonna miss seeing him at all of the big games around the metro with his papers in his pockets. Was wondering why I didn't see him at the CDH and WBL game yesterday.

Oh no!!! This is sad. I was just saying how I hadn't seen him this year, and being someone not close to him at all, I questioned if health was a concern. It was the only explanation I could think of, for why I hadn't seen him yet in the 14/15 season. I always went out of my way to shoot the breeze with Wes. He wasn't no bandwagon fan, he was as passionate & loving of the game as it gets. Well, Big Wes. I hope he's got first dibs at what seat he gets to watch from up in the sky. I feel like I always saw him towards the top of a corner. I'll have to cheers a fountain pop in his name at the next game.

Wes was a wonderful fan. a;ways had good things to say to players win or lose. He will be missed around the rink and field. He always called me coach, talked about how Holy was playing and how coach Trebill treated his players. Will miss his presence at the rink.

It was always a treat to see you walk into the rink with the rolled up LPH in your hand talking hockey with anyone and everyone.

Like Z said, he liked to call everyone that looked somewhat parental "Coach". It was quite humerous...

Seems like yesterday when Wes was walking the lobby of the old Civic Center with the stack of papers and stats with his buddy Herb. He was a hockey icon and staple of high school hockey. He will be missed.
