Wild/Hawks at TCF during Section Playoffs 2016

Your thoughts on not necessarily the Outdoor Game, but do you like the fact it is the Sunday after Semi-Final Saturday next year? The angle I'm going for is there was talk of the outdoor NHL game being part of Hockey Day Minnesota and having a college game and HS games as part of the outdoor events. Now the game is on a Sunday, and during the section playoffs in which there is no way you'll be able to have HS games as part of the event at TCF Bank Stadium. I just think it would have been cool to showcase HS hockey on the national stage, but probably won't happen the way most had hoped.

I thought they were deciding between TCF and Target Field?

No, it is TCF Bank. 15,000 more seats, and besides, baseball stadiums suck for outdoor hockey games. Far better sight lines in football stadiums.

FYI, RussoStrib just tweeted that Hockey Day will actually be on Saturday, Feb. 13 next year.

Outdoor games are overrated!

If going to make hockey day and during sections big mistake.

Hmm, MN High School Hockey started outside tradition and NHL copied....lol
