I see most of the Mr. hockey names are on the HP – 18 roster, except interesting that Adams from Grand Rapids is included but that Matson and Bischoff are not?

18s are a small group. Seniors with birthdays after July 1.

Actually it's juniors with a 1997 birth year.

Oops. Sorry. I knew it was a small group. So it's the older juniors who have aged out of the HP 15-16-17 process.

Exactly - It gives this bunch one more chance to be seen by various programs.

Depends on the year. Mass has been hit and miss sometimes bringing decent teams, sometimes brining teams that had no business being there/ Wisconsin's two teams are usually pretty good and worth the making the trip (proximity helps them field better teams for this). Michigan has also been a little bit hit and miss but not as bas as MASS. Overall it's pretty good hockey and scouts do attend, mostly junior hockey scouts but for this group that is where they are all most likely headed.

Yeah, really weird. Must not have had enough kids or something? They have 6 minnesota kids on the team so it seems kind of bizarre

Watched the 9 pm Minn HP 18 game against Mich last nite.

Lots of good Dmen on the Minn 18 team. Robbel picked up a couple goals and at least one assist, he reminds me of Ahcan in some ways. Newpower has grown another inch or two and is a dominant force. So is Aamodt, listed at 205. Right there are 3 candidates for Reed Larson.

I didnt go back and check the scoring, but Zimmer picked up at least one that I can remember, as did Garin, Becker and Ellingson. Notermann played his usual good game. There was some good team passing.

There was an entertaining moment when giant Tweten put just a slight shoulder and elbow into a Mich kid while jousting for position while waiting for a faceoff, but the size difference was enough to send the Mich kid sliding for several feet. No penalty

Shots were about even but Minn won big, due to poor Mich goaltending. Meanwhile, Swanson and Hughes each gave up only 1 goal during their rotation.

EGF has 3 on the roster , Maht has 2. If Becker stays for senior year, those two will be seeing each other again for the A tournament next year, maybe even if Becker doesnt stay.
