The sections may be moved around again with teams dropping down to A and a few sections having 6 teams, so a shift may be in order for a few sections. But, let's go with what we have currently:

Class A:
1) Rochester Lourdes
2) Delano
3) Luverne
4) Mahtomedi (if Becker is back), otherwise SPA
5) Sauk Rapids
6) St Cloud Apollo
7) Hemantown
8) East Grand Forks
State Champ: Mahtomedi (if Becker is back), otherwise Hermantown

AA:
1) Lakeville North
2) Eden Prairie
3) St. Thomas Academy
4) Hill-Murray
5) Centennial
6) Edina
7) Duluth East - never bet against Randolph
8) Bemidji
State Champ: Eden Prairie

I see 2 people have picked WBL to win 4AA and even though Newpower is coming back on defense and Parenteau will be back in net, the forwards are kind of thin even if Gast comes back (was named a captain but he's still isn't completely sure if he's coming back) but I don't know much about the bantam class. I don't see them getting past the Ponies but you can still dream it'll happen.

Newpower will be likely Reid Larson award winner?

I see a pretty even split with the picks for 4AA. HM returns several forwards (Reifenberger, Mills and Bremer are notables), Staum at defense and Begley in net. Of those, Reifenberger, Bremer, Staum and Begley made their respective National Camps -- Reifenberger and Begley for the 2nd time, Staum for the 3rd. I believe one of their JV defensemen made St. Cloud 102 camp, and one would assume he will make the varsity squad come fall. I am sure they will have something to say in 4AA. I believe Staum has been mentioned in the Reid Larson category also. Hoping to see another Stillwater/HM section final, and though I believe Stillwater might be the deeper team, Lechner always seems to find a way. I think it could be the most up-in-the-air year for 4AA in a long time.

For your Class A Champion predictions, how do you think that Becker is the difference between this team making the tournament to winning it?

Spring Lake Park moved up to AA. Also, I don't get the pick with Alex winning 6A when then they graduated roughly 15 seniors from last years team. I think that section is between Apollo, Cathedral, and Fergus Falls.

I like Farmington in 1AA, they'll actually have to play a section title game with winning in mind Instead of not being put in running time but I think this may be the Tigers year. Nothing against North other than conplacency.

My bet there is other teams that will be strong contenders this year...Sats is of the belief all are staying at Lake North ...I would think not
If the Tigers Lose a top Defensemen then ..they will be a one line show
Is there help at the Bantam level ? any Transfers in?
I think there are some schools that will be greatly improved
Lake South, JM will all be better ..It wont be a cake walk by no means

North is still the clear favorite to win 1AA this year.

With the current roster, I would have to agree. But my guess, there will be two to three more players who played a significant roll during the undefeated season leaving to play elsewhere by the start of the next school year. If this happens, all bets are off on a 1AA favorite.

Sure. There is no chance. How's that? In fact, I wouldn't even pick Farmington over LS.

I can tell there is a top player in Section 1 that will be moving to another section 1 team that will make a major difference.

I really can't. I was just talking to my Lakeville "Pop" buddies the other day and the conversation came up. It was definitely an interesting one. Sorry!
