Probably my favorite show from you guys yet. It was interesting to hear about the Erwin brothers who left Hibbing for EP. Makes you wonder how good Hibbing could have been with them.
I was surprised by all the doubt for Lakeville North. I hope Sats gets a chance to listen and respond, because I was shocked especially by what the youth hockey hub guy had to say about the Panthers and their game with Grand Rapids this week.

The only thing I wished would have happened that didn't was for Karl to share his opinion on Stillwater. After reading his rankings it was clear he has a different idea compared to the other two guys and I think there could have been a nice debate there.
Keep up the great work, it was fun listening to all three of you!

What would have been more fun is having Sats in studio.

LVN/GR will be a good game. I just think that GR is the better and more talented team. To me it just feels like Team North vs. Team Southeast all over again.

I know that is partially tongue in cheek, however, it certainly would have made the show more colorful and likely would have tripled listening audience!

Few takes on the podcast:

First off, great job guys, truly enjoyed listening to it. You guys do good work.

As far as the LN/GR game and some of the comments Tony Scott made, please, listening audience keep a few of these things in mind: 1) If Tony Scott could homestead in the IRA you can bet your 401k he and the YHH staff would be having permanent slumber parties there with his 1985 Panasonic camcorder. (Feel free to use that one TS   you are welcome). 2) Tony Scott is 1/3 PT Barnum, 1/3 Televangelist, 1/3 Vince McMahon (all with a MN accent). That being said, Yes, everything he says (similar to Sats here) he speaks as if. Such as: "Grand Rapids will beat LN by a touchdown". Simply NOT GONNA HAPPEN Tony Scott. Such as: WBL and HM is not a rivalry anymore". NOT TRUE Tony Scott. Or "Lee Smith and EP just happen to have all these "transfers" fall in their laps" Really? You may fool some of your premium subscribers by saying silly things like that, but Not old Sats here, Tony Scott. I know the HS "recruiting game" better than most my friend, in fact I may have invented it! (I am joking of course) My point being, he is a promoter, he is a capitalist, he is self assured (even if he is wrong more often that not). Take what he says with a grain of salt. After all, this is the same man who ranks top 9 and 10 year olds (and profits from it-which I truly love btw).

With all that being said, YES, despite the rumors, after their first loss in 18 months LN still has a hockey team! They are still pretty damn good! They will probably score more goals then they did last year (A Tony Scottism), and Sats here (Yes I am referring to myself in the 3rd person-a sure sign of narcissistic personality disorder) will put LN's top 6 against ANY other top 6 in MN, including the 2016 State Champion Grand Rapids Indians top 6. Something has to give though. As I have said on this board for years I am REALISTIC. As much as I hate doing this I picked against LN for saturdays game. (Check the weekly pick em if you don't believe it) Reverse Psychology for DJ to call off the dogs? No. Karl and the Board Mods want to change my user name from "Sats81" to "Pete Rose"? That's cool. I think it will be an old fashioned 1980's shootout. Just the way the fans like it. Tony Scott, DJ, boblee you all can talk about how great your super soph goalies up in Indian land are, and how the senior has come in been solid (Wanna trade one of them for 2 solid d-men?), but LN will still put at least 5, maybe even 6 or 7 on whoever Klatt decides to throw in. The story of the game and what ultimately decides it won't be the super top 6 each team has but rather who has more breakdowns defensively, and if LN has a surprise for Saturday in goal?

I will call a 7-5 Indian win.

Tony Scott-If the Indians "win by a touchdown" I will personally purchase you a better microphone and a recording system that is from the last decade at least so your poor premium subscribers don't have to watch games as if they are viewing a local cable access independent circuit wresting match at the West St. Paul Armory. Roasted?

Hope I at least get a shout out on the next podcast boys!

Sats, you are very entertaining. I'm glad you post everywhere on this board. I think it would be even more fun to watch a hockey game with you than it is to read your posts. Maybe we'll run into each other at a game sometime.

Keep up the great posting!

We all know how the privates operate, let's go with AA and A.

Oh gosh, this is a whole other thread! I would need some time to really think about that.

Can I say one thing though?

The all time greatest recruiting program in the history of MN HS hockey whether it was private or public, AA or A was the Holy Angels era from about 1998-2007. The job Greg Trebil and co did was truly second to none. If there is a blueprint to follow, I only wish others could come close to touching that. The "theft" from Jefferson alone was enough to bring tears of joy to my eyes. Jefferson would have had at least 2 more state titles if Sats could have kept Greg Trebil happy coaching the Jefferson bantams.

I can't remember if I said this, but part of the Stillwater/LVN discussion did get cut off. But sure, I'll try to stir things up a little more next week. (Maybe not quite on Tony's level, though...) :)

Karl-were you at the SW/LN game? Have you seen SW this year? Curious on your thoughts. Will you be at Rapids/LN?
