Elliott, looks like you are telling us we will see the Jacks in the first round at the X again. Lost some talent, returning a lot, and somehow found another 92% GAA goalie in the Bemidji top caliber goalie pipeline.
We wish we could see Bemidji during regular season, like we saw Moorhead last week.
Will have to try to find Livestream for the HT game on the 16th and the HM game on the 26th. Of course, the Pioneers will be bringing their secret Section 8 weapon with them , acquired in an unfair trade deal and who no doubt will provide advance intelligence on the Jacks talent and systems.
Who do you think Jacks might best match up with at the X? Many of the kids will have a years experience at the X venue under their belt.
The bloom will be off the rose for some returning teams compared to last year. So less mystique factor. And, some new teams might be vulnerable to first round jitters. So, the Jacks chances might be improved to advance to the 2nd round at the X.
Of course , there are a few games between now and then

Odds on favorite, but not a definite.WestMetro wrote:Elliott, looks like you are telling us we will see the Jacks in the first round at the X again. Lost some talent, returning a lot, and somehow found another 92% GAA goalie in the Bemidji top caliber goalie pipeline.

Benilde would be good.
Beat the best in the first round.
But right now it's Crookston.
Can't get ahead of yourself, right Thawks and hounds.

toughest section
that would be section 2AA
as of 1/13
Bemidji
#2 belongs to tonight's winner of Brainerd - Moorhead
then
#4 St Ikes or maybe Roseau
#6 Rogers
#7 Buffalo
Of course a few important games left.
1-14 Brainerd at Moorhead
1-19 Moorhead at Roseau
1-22 Moorhead at St Michaels
1-23 Roseau at Brainerd
1-28 Bemidji at Roseau
1-30 St Michaels at Bemidji
2-2 Bemidji at Brainerd
2-4 Moorhead at Buffalo
2-6 Buffalo at St Michaels

A loss to EGF might/will.
but the games listed are the important ones.
Bemidji wins out of the games listed then they will be the 1 seed.
Moorhead wins out they will be the 2 seed argue (maybe) for the 1 seed.
Brainerd wins out they might get the 1 seed, 2 for sure.
Roseau wins out they might get the 2 seed.
St Mikes wins out, maybe a 2 seed.
Rogers will be 6
Buffalo 7
So #1, 2, 3 is still very much up in the air between Bemidji, Brainerd, and Moorhead.
St Mikes and Roseau could do something to move into that mix but probably looking at 4 & 5, so all their games are more relevant because of their early season tie.
Makes for an exciting finish.
STMA should be able to lock up at least the 4 seed with a win over Roseau. Maybe they could even make some noise in sections and pull an upset or two, as they were able to knock off Breck. This is shaping up to be a much tighter section than I think most anticipated.elliott70 wrote:A loss to Hermantown will not change coaches voting in this section.Sats81 wrote:Don't get too far ahead of yourself there Lumberjack. And how do you lose 9-1 and a week, later win 6-1 with Breck?CornerBar wrote:STMA should be able to lock up at least the 4 seed with a win over Roseau. Most would call it making the correct adjustments. Others may call it something else.elliott70 wrote:And how do you lose 9-1 and a week, later win 6-1 with Breck?CornerBar wrote:STMA should be able to lock up at least the 4 seed with a win over Roseau. STMA and Roseau do not meet again in regular season. Skated to a 3-3 tie early in year in St. Michael. Shots after regulation were 43-13 (STMA). Combination of Roseau goalie playing well and also a plenty of easy saves.GoldenBear69 wrote:STMA and Roseau played to a 3-3 draw on 11/27 and do not meet again in the regular season.
