An interesting note to tomorrows game is that this is the first time the Hawks and Bears have played each other in the post season since the 1998 Class A final. Eveleth beat Bruce Plantes "miracle team" 4-2. The day before theb Hawks staged one of the greatest upsets in tournament history by beating no. 1 Red Wing 3-2. That tournament was when Hermantown arrived on the hockey map.
I don't know if our team had any transfers. I think the players mostly grew up in Hermantown. Then again I don't remember what the transfer policy was back then.

What are you talking about? They are still in the same zip code now. Proctor and Saginaw are the same zip code as Hermantown. I even believe Piedmont Heights is too.

Greatest Upset in Teir 2 - Class A - JV Tournament History
How good you must feel in the next three games out scoring your opponents 4 to 1. Now that's competition at its best.
Only question is when you finally win your "State Title" will your banner say Class A on it?
The Hawks should win today but again everyone in Eveleth remembers the 1999 section QF when Duluth Central upset the No 2 ranked Bears in Eveleth. Stranger things can happen! !
