Right, I missed a couple. But I think there is one error where a person is actually a junior.

Karl, are you going to do your usual breakdown by school, and by class?
And also account for those missing, whether playing juniors before and after, or otherwise unexplained/unknown?

Sure, I can run through it tomorrow.

At first glance, it looks like they've added a bunch of players from non-traditional powerhouses this year, which should help fight a common criticism.

Anyone know the story behind Team CCM? They're listed just like any other team, but they don't play every weekend, and while solid, the roster doesn't have any of the real front-end stars. It has its share of seniors, though, so it's not like it's that team from the Development League that gets to play a weekend every year. Not sure if those players should be included in a tally or not.

Also, they may want to remove a few of those parents' emails that are visible next to some players... :-k

Never been a fan of sophomores in the Elite League. That's what the D League is for. But, are the 14 all national camp participants?

By team (not including CCM):

7 - Hermantown
5 - Edina, Eden Prairie, Holy Family, Prior Lake, STA, Stillwater, Duluth East, Grand Rapids, Bemidji
4 - Lakeville South, Elk River, Moorhead
3 - Lakeville North, Hill-Murray, Wayzata, Benilde, Maple Grove, Centennial, SPA, Delano
2 - Minnetonka, Burnsville, Blaine, Roseau, Breck, Hibbing
1 - 23 teams

50 teams total

Including CCM:

8 - Hermantown
6 - Edina, Eden Prairie, Holy Family, Duluth East, Lakeville South
5 - Prior Lake, STA, Stillwater, Grand Rapids, Bemidji
4 - Elk River, Moorhead, Benilde, Maple Grove, Delano, SPA
3 - Lakeville North, Hill-Murray, Wayzata, Centennial, Burnsville, Minnetonka
2 - Blaine, Roseau, Breck, Hibbing, Cloquet, Bloomington Jefferson, East Grand Forks, Rochester Lourdes, Greenway
1 - 20 teams

55 teams total

Notable absences:
Casey Mittelstadt, EP (before-and-after)
Micah Miller, GR (before-and-after?)
Clayton Phillips, Edina (almost certainly gone)
Jensen Zerban, ER (juniors before season...unclear beyond that)
Jack Perbix, ER (Blades)
STA--no Christys or Matsui, but some of these other players make it? Are they playing Blades/some alternative also?

Other stray observations:
-On paper, I like team NW
-Just 2 for Tonka is a little surprising, but they'll be young
-Four defensemen for Lakeville South
-2 goalies for Grand Rapids
-Looks like Perunovich will be back
-The majority of the sophomores who made it did play HS hockey, not bantams, last season.

Also noticed Chase Brand from Park Rapids not on the roster ... Any idea where he is playing this season?

Excellent summary Karl! But let your true thoughts be known, Team North is going to be No. 1 again!

YHH.... Thanks for perspective on sophomores. Will be interesting to hear followup if any of your 4 missings and the younger Christy are playing Blades

It's good Hermantown gets enough slots so they can kind of play a AA season before the JV season starts. NO reason the "Elite" league should have 14 sophomores. By the time these sophomores are seniors there bored with the league making it easier to depart. Interesting to see a couple of SE players on different rosters having played last year. SE looks to be a strange hodgepodge of players this year and may struggle. I'll take team NE this year. Let the games begin.

Question: Brock Draeger, who played for Lakeville North last season, is listed as going to South on the Elite League roster. Is that a transfer or a misprint?

Oliver did the similar thing a few years back with egf.

Basically a couple months extra practice for the team.

Just a heads up on your totals list Karl, Moorhead has 5 players on both lists not 4.

Excellent hockey program in Hermantown. Being right next door in Cloquet/Esko, I've respected this program for years. On average the last 10 or so years, half of their varsity roster each year plays in the Elite league.

I thought the HP D league was for freshman and sophomores an elite leave for juniors and seniors. I'm not very smart when it comes to this off season HP stuff. Also, it seems that Hermantown hockey has now become a feeder program to UMD Men's Hockey. Very impressive!!!

Hopefully all of that talent can mesh together before the Class A Postseason or they just might give up a goal this year.

Perunovich no longer on the North roster. Has he moved on?

Looks like Perunovich will be with Cedar Rapids in the fall, but I don't know if that means he's gone or if it's a before-and-after.
