0-0 after one between Elk River and Centennial. Shots were 14-5 for ER.

Kind of a weird period I thought, fun, but tough to digest a bit. ER dominated using possession the first 4-5 minutes. Centennial could barely get it over the red line during that time.
Centennial then takes a penalty and ER looks okay on it, nothing spectacular, not a lot of great looks and the Cougars kill it off.
Killing the penalty looks to give Centennial life and the game becomes a bit back and forth, I would say even giving Centennial the edge in the middle of this period.
ER takes a penalty and Centennial is moving it around well, holding the zone, but not really a great look, one shot was tipped that might have been close. But Centennial showed something on the PP I thought.
The period was back and forth a bit until about the last minute when ER got 2-3 good chances to score.

ER has some big, talent D men, but Centennial caught them pinching a few times, especially Mcgregor who had two 2-1's and a breakaway. Mcgregor seems to be the big gun for the Cougars, but he probably should have put one of them away. The first 2 on 1 he got too fancy going against Perbix and tried to pass, when he should have shot. His breakaway he missed the net, the last 2-1 Meyers saved his shot, I believe.

ER dominated the start by possession and cycling the puck in Centennial's end, the forwards stopped doing that I thought and we playing like individuals too much, trying to deke around the Cougars D men, I think they have to get back to how they were grinding it out at the start.

Though the shots were 14-5 for ER, chances were probably just slightly in favor of ER if not equal. Like I said, Centennial did have two 2 on ones and a breakaway and ER had nothing like that, they had a nice flurry at the start and the end of the period though.

2-0 ER goal by again Jack Perbix for his 2nd of the game, he might be the younger of the brothers I am not sure. Jack I learned is the first name, he has both goals.

2nd Period has been all ER

After 2 the score is 2-0 for Elk River. 22-10 for shots in favor of ER

I thought the game was much closer in the first period than Tony from YHH was saying in his announcing, and I wondered if that was cause the camera is stationed in one end of the rink and it can be hard to see the far end, but this period was no question all ER

The period opened up with Centennial taking 3 penalties in the first half of the period. ER looked really good on the powerplay, Maas had a real good look as he walked in from the corner. ER eventually scored on the 3rd powerplay when two elks came into the zone both favoring the right side, the centenniall D stepped up to the guy with the puck who was located more towards the center, where he passed it to Perbix on the right board, came in, nice shot over the goalies shoulder.

Centennial came in off the next faceoff and had their best chance of the period, but Meyers made a big save to keep it 1-0.
Not too long after Perbix got his second goal as a pass/shot came from the right board, hit the side of the net perhaps, maybe the goalie, maybe a Centennial skater, nonetheless Perbix was right there, in tight and shot it just over the leg pad of the Cougar goalie.
Centennial again had a solid chance off the ensuing face off, but coudn't score. Their best chances came right after they were scored on, but besides that they really did nothing that period.

I thought ER's D did a good job that period by eliminating any rushes like they gave up in the first. The Elks are deep and have two very talented forward lines, while Centennial has a solid goalie it seems, responsible D who know what they are doing, but they lack in forwards. Mcgregor seems solid, but he is doing a bit too much, turning the puck over a decent amount, he needs some support out there.

Final ER 3-1 Shots last I heard were 29-19 for ER.

The last period was pretty even I thought, it didn't seem like there was a ton of chances for either team though.

Centennial scored on the powerplay to make it 2-1. The goal was scored by Wagner who found a big rebound at around the right dot and knuckle-pucked it past Meyers for the goal.
Even though that goal made it a close game, it didn't seem like Centennial really had a chance. ER had just worn them down so much, and it took a lucky bounce and so much effort just to get the one, that ER seemed safe with a one goal lead.

Jax Murray was somewhat quiet in the first two periods, but he made a couple of dazzling rushes in the 3rd, the final one I noticed resulted in the goal to make it 3-1. He danced around a Centennial d before coming in on his backhand, switched to forehand coming right to left tight in on the goalie who made a save, but Murray collected his own rebound for the goal on the stretched out Allen in net.
If one goal felt safe for ER than the 2 goal lead made it feel like lights out for Centennial.
The Cougars provided a little bit of pressure towards the end, but they were kind of sloppy moving the puck around and it just never became organized, frequently passing or accidentally knocking the puck out of ER's zone so they would have to regroup.

ER was the better team today, highlighted by a dominating 2nd period. They have two good forward lines, an above average goalie, but perhaps their best feature is the defense. Their top 4 D are all big, strong kids, Perbix and Maas both looked really good, and they are on separate pairings. I thought the D corp did a great job correcting themselves after a few odd man rushes in the first, to eliminate any for the rest of the game. They are going to wear teams out.

Heard he's also very modest & objective, too.
