Green Wave getting hammered by Cathedral 7 - 2. Final.

Reminds me of 2013 when the they beat the then #1 2A team, Blaine on Friday night, then lost badly to Breck the next afternoon.
It looked like they were gassed after the Blaine game the night before.
And it looks like that is happening again.

They then went on to win the state tournament later that March.

I'll keep my hopes up.

Just watched Rapids and BSM on youtube. Fairly even game. Not sure on the sog. BSM probably had more scoring chances but Rapids had a few also. Game was 3-3 late in 3rd when the Red Knights scored to lead by 1. Rapids pulled Clafton late and BSM was able to get an EN. 5-3 final

I was in Cloquet today for White Bear's 3-1 win over the Jacks. Tough, physical game with plenty of penalties. After two viewings, White Bear looks pretty good: they've got two lines that can score, and they held their own and then some against two hard-hitting northern teams. If they can continue to build over the course of the season, they'll be right back there with Hill in the 4AA final.

Cloquet moved Landon Langenbrunner to their second line and thereby created some depth, but while they generated plenty of pressure, one Bender snipe was all they could muster. As I've said a number of times, they are good in many areas but great in none. I could see them coming together and being a legitimate threat in 7AA, or lapsing into mediocrity where nothing ever gets on track. With an 0-4 start, they're already in bad shape in QRF.

Cathedral 7-2 over EGF?! Yikes, the Crusaders are simply laying waste to the Class A landscape early in the season.

EP pretty impressive. Dominated the game after the refs got over 1st game jitters. Tonka won State when these boys were 2nd year Bantams. I’m fairly sure Brink wasn’t on that team but, I may be wrong. Some turnover for both teams. Very impressed with the sophs on EP. Is CDH really a top 5 team? I didn’t see that. Should lead to a Great Lake Conference this year.

Drew Holt

Reminds me of recently committed Brock Bremer in many ways . Had a great Bantam season and expecting him to put up some points this year . He will have to continue to progress next year or two before they come calling, but he’s got the potential ..

Brink, Hanus, and Loheit were all on the Tonka Bantam AA team this year as Bantam champs.

Maybe I’m wrong, but Drew Holt peaked as a Bantam. Maybe “commit D1,” but will not be a D1 player. Best shot in state as a Bantam, but he hardly impressed at select 16 festival last spring.

That was some big talent. The replacements aren’t there but Streeter, Kitleson, and ?. Deep

This makes zero sense to me. Are you a scout? Kid has a wicked twisted wrister. That computes.

You need more than a shot to compete at next level. Again, I could be wrong, but Holt is a wait and see prospect at this point. Need to see against top competition and goalies.

Feeling bad for CEC! I think they are reeling from the big loss of two stud defensemen. Struggling to notch a win is proving to be a challenge! Hope they can get on track and fast.

62, all I was saying is I think Holt has the potential if he progresses well the next year or two. Or , he may well be a post high school commit kid like Bremer at UNO. Yes, he will be facing more competition of older kids and older quality goaltending this year. But I saw a lot of tools in play last year against good competition for his age group, and especially at Parade during the Bantam tournament. I didnt see the select 16s last spring. Time will tell, but dont think he can be written off at this point. It will be interesting to see his point total by the end of February.
