If Slammer was here, he'd say "CEC...easily!"

But yeah, Cloquet. Right now playing the 2nd best hockey in the section.

But the game is in Forest Lake in the afternoon after a week of screwed up schedules.

I think CEC will be lucky to keep it in stop time.

Wow, how far has 7AA fallen when they are talking about Flake being a 3 seed in February.

Name 1 decent team that Flake has beaten! I just looked at their schedule and saw non-conference games against Chisago Lakes, St. Francis, and Irondale. Pathetic.

And I keep hearing the QRF will correct things by the end of the season. I'm really starting to doubt that. If Forest Lake played Rapid's or East's schedule they'd be 1-24 with most of their losses by 10 or more goals. They have no right be considered for anything other than the 6 or 7 seed.

FLake is not a good team but if they win out or win most including CEC they may get a shot at 3.
Elk River needs to win their easy(?) games to have a shot at 4.

GRapids and DMarshall have no shot (Rapids wins 3 of their last 4 they may have an argument but they could very well lose all 4).

So its not a question of FLake being good enough it is a question of 7AA not being very good.

Lets see how the CEC Flake game effects this. The Flake DM game could change this even more.

GR and FL would be close enough that GR would leapfrog them on the head-to-head tiebreaker

This is page stat, currently QRF is approximately 20 point spread. GR probably needs to win some and FLAKE lose a lot for that to get to wherever the point difference will end up being to use the tie breaker..
Not impossible but not highly probable.

The problem with QRF as I understand it is that your wins qualify for higher points as the teams you beat also do well, which if this is the case I am lost as to what way the QRF is calculating Forest Lake with such a ridiculous and embarrassingly high number. I hope after this season that the coaches go back to the Hinckley meeting or switch to Pagestat.

Yes, coaches vote would seem the way to go.
Odds are against page stat.

It would be nice if everyone played everyone or at least a large percentage of the teams in the same section.

CEC plays Rapids and East 2 each=4 games. And never play Elk River and no more Andover.

And we saw how pathetic the coach vote resulted a couple of years ago. When you have coaches that manipulate the system, you have to go with QRF. Let is play out and you will see Flake down where they belong.

I want East in the final, but that’s unlikely. I’m not saying Cloquet would win. I just want to see it.
