Elite II Website?

Post by RLStars »

At tryouts, it was told that the Elite II league was in the process of getting a website and should be up and running very soon.

Does anyone know if the site is ready yet and what the address is?

I talked to Bill Moore to confirm - it will be elite2hockey.com. The site is just in the process of being set up, so I'm sure the domain name was just recently purchased and may not have hit the various databases yet.

Hope this helps...

Well what is up with Elite 11 League???? If your son in not good enough to Make the True Elite 1 team then so be it. Elite 11 what a joke Just like everyone starting teams and calling them AAA Hockey Teams. What do these kids say oh i play Elite 2 because i am not good enough to skate with the cream of the crop players of MN? Give me a break. Thats why they made the Elite team to have the best play and stay in this great state of hockey. So whats next guys Elite 3 maybe 4? Where does the madness stop

I think if kids want to play they should have a league to play in. I think that it is not very good to say that the Elite 1 League gets all the players that deserve to play and compete and get better.

I know you don't think they are 100% correct cause I know I never em in regards to selecting a team.
Hockey Nut in So. Elite leagues

Post by elliott70 »

Minnesota Hockey established Elite league after Project Prep, just to step it up a bit.
Next, they wanted another league for younger kids and for some of the seniors that may have been overlooked by the elite league.

Elite is primarily seniors & juniors with some sophs.
Elite 2 is primarliy juniors and sophmores with some seniors.

Because one came first and does not have the tag 2 behind it does not make one better than the other - they serve a little different purpose.

Adn hdoggie - maybe your AAA team is ... never mind.

Hey Ellitt70 I have the Elite 1 rosters sitting in front of me and there are sophomores and some Freshmen on there also? I thought you said Seniors and Juniors make up this team? By the way i don't have a AAA hockey team but i know of some of them and the true AAA hockey teams i have watched play have there players on the Tier 1 Elite teams. You say there is no difference between a Elite 1 team and a Elite 2 team? I disagree totally. Take a look at the rosters of the Team North for example and let me know if there is any Elite 2 team that would stand up to them? Did not think so So yes Elite 1 is good Elite 2 i will have to go out and watch this to see if its worth it

I did not say that they do not have sophs on the elite league. Primarily srs. & jrs. I know this because I help put the players in the league and on the teams.

I did not say teams were equal. I said that one league is not better than the other. They serve different purposes. Elite teams should almost always beat the elite 2's. Sr - Jr vs Jr - So. Most of the best Sr & Jr in the state are in elite. Elite 2 is to give the younger kids a similar but slightly different experience. More practice - less competition.

Elite 2 was not designed by some Dad so his kid would have a place to play. It was an extention of what was a succesful elite program (although they are not relatted in terms of management, funding etc - separate and distinct).

But yes - go watch, second year of the program with hope that it gets better every year.

I agree with you about all the AAA hockey teams out there.
But...

Elite II like was posted earlier is nothing like that.

With the MSHSL never going to give in on adding more games to the high school season, or even go to twenty minute periods, this is a way to allow more kids to try to make up some of that game time missed. Absolutely, Elite I is a better league, but Elite II is allowing more high school aged kids to make up those games, and not just allow the "Elite" of the Elite to play in a competitive league.

Like was said earlier, Elite is suppose to be for upperclassmen, and II is for soph's and jr's. This year there are more soph's and frosh than ever before. In fact last year Elite told Patrick White, and Cade Fairchild they couldn't play because they were sophomores. Which is fine, because it is for the older guys.

It is a positive thing, thats all.

We use High School Coaches, ex-players and I watch a lot of High School games to get a group of very good players in camp. Then we had 6 sessions so the boys could earn a spot on the team. On the last day we play the kids that are competing for the final spots against each other 3 on 3 down low. Often times the ones thar really want it shows here.

This year noone quit and it was an excellent group..

We did our best to get it correct. The hardest thing to deal with is the senior rule as there were probably 13 to 15 very good seniors that would have liked to play.

We only kept 7 and can play only 4 in any Conference game.

I am hoping that we can make so that each group can just put the best team on the ice.

Guys that are not playing that are very good
Tim Kirby Austin
Seth Arnold Austin
Cody Ellingson Austin
Nick Reveland Century
many others that would like to play the most competitive hockey that they can to prepare for this season and the seasons to come.

That is the part we need to get fixed. I think all the teams looked pretty decent up in St. Cloud. I am quite pleased with the players in the league and I think Bill Moore should be commmended on pulling the jamboree off so well last weekend.

St. Cloud MAC facility was perfect for it.
Hockey Nut in So. sioux fan. did any outstanding freshman or sophomores, in your view, not make the elite II and opt then to play 4x4 over in st. paul? a number of skaters in the 4x4 also skate in the elite I league...do any elite II skaters participate in the 4x4?

I would like to add that SiouxFan is explaining how he runs his section in the Elite II selection process. That is not how every section runs it. Just want to make that clear, but am not going to delve any further than that since this has been hashed over previously.

Does anyone know who is responsible to update the Elite 2 website? It would be nice if it was kept up to date with current results. I would be happy to help if it is needed. I assume the results are all funneled in to someone...It would also be nice to have some stats posted.
