Impressive win by the Hounds to get back on track. They played vintage East hockey for most of the game and went toe-to-toe with a very good Blaine team. There was a point when it could have slipped away from them, as it did in the White Bear and Wayzata games, in the mid-to-late 2nd when Blaine was up 1-0 and they were running around a bit in their own zone, but they locked in, got a couple of dirty goals, and locked down well in the 3rd. They cleaned up the defensive slop from the Cloquet game (credit to Isaac Schweiger having a nice game on D), got good goaltending, and looked like a team that could yet be a factor in 7AA.

This was the second time I've seen Blaine (the other game being the Hill loss); they're big and plenty talented, they could probably be undefeated if they could just hit the net with any regularity. So many shots wide and over, and when East got to their system, they really frustrated them and didn't give Richels, Hansen, et. al much space to move.

Yes, clearly Rosemount was over rated. Thus South will be punished for beating them and a North will be punished for beating South. All 7AA teams will be elevated accordingingly. 1AA teams can never, ever, be rewarded.
