Section Tournaments Attendance
Are Section tournaments percentage standards set forth by the state for individual sites intact, or the MSHSL standards for State Tournaments set by MSHSL, until further guidance?
Re: Section Tournaments Attendance
The new attendance allowance does not go into effect until April 1st. With most happening at the high seed rinks, I would think that the rules that each school has in place would be what is used.
Re: Section Tournaments Attendance
Thank you. I didn’t realize our guy was waiting 3 weeks. If anyone has any specific details on individual section site attendance guidelines, please update here. Thanks again.
Re: Section Tournaments Attendance
I had to dig to find it, but it applies to large, inside/outside venues. Large venues applies to a capacity over 500. Almost all the other categories are March 15th. I think I have it right anyway. There is a graphic that spells it out on this link. https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-ne ... d-guidance
Re: Section Tournaments Attendance
All schools are placed into one of 16 administrative regions (8A and 8AA) those regions run the section tournaments.
Mine has put forth the policy that all section games will be played at the high seed, the number of available tickets will be the maximum under state/county/local/district rules. One half of the available tickets will be allocated to the visiting school. If the high seed does not allow fans or visiting fans then the low seed will be offered to host the game. If neither school allows fans or visiting fans the game will be played at the high seed with no fans. Each school can allocate tickets as they deem appropriate.
The wording allows attendance to be adjusted to the size of the arena or a change in the rules governing attendance. I would imagine most sections have a similar policy. One would hope if the attendance rules are adjusted upwards sections would look towards bigger arenas where possible.
