Re: Mike Randolph
They must've stolen his heart with that "forecheck" they implemented on their playoff run a couple years ago

Re: Mike Randolph
Naturally, Karl broke it 4 minutes before YHH

Re: Mike Randolph
Great scoop Karl . Exciting news to see the legend join the Cadets program . We are also hearing that the entire Cadets asst coaching staff will remain .
Re: Mike Randolph
The question on everyone's mind is....will he have to follow the skinny jeans dress code behind the bench?

Re: Mike Randolph
Meh! STA….? Really? Money matters legacy not so much. Go to Highland Park, Park, Simley, etc.heck, stick it to your school bored and go to Cloquet! STA just makes you a sell out! Sorry, but taking a job at STA……really?

Re: Mike Randolph
While I do not consider myself pro or anti Mike Randolph, isn’t it time to be done? Seems very odd that a 60 something year old person would disrupt his life to be an assistant in a town 2 1/2 hours away. The hockey world will survive without you.

Re: Mike Randolph
I would assume hes taking the assistant job as a filler for the winter. I would bet he will take a head coach job somewhere in the cities in the 22-23 season.
Re: Mike Randolph
Heard today that there is some talk that Randolph would be named the associate head coach. Purpose would be to continue the all time win total count.

So it’s not just all about the kids? I’d have had more respect for him if he’d have chosen to walk off into the sunset.

Re: Mike Randolph
After what East hockey was before he got there and what he made of it, your respect/disrespect is moot. He deserved better than what he got from the Duluth School Board and East Administration. However he decides to end his coaching career is justified.Getitright wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 9:04 pm So it’s not just all about the kids? Re: Mike Randolph
Point being when your hanging on to break a record, it’s not “about the kids” as he seems to always want to try and point out. He clearly has left his mark and done some very good things. His current actions give the appearance it’s now all about him.
Re: Mike Randolph
I didn’t get to any of the STA games at BIg yesterday , was Mike in the stands ? He usually came to the summer festival
Re: Mike Randolph
I mean, I suppose Randolph deserves the benefit of the doubt. But not all stories have happy endings, and sometimes people can be too stubborn for their own good. Randolph can certainly continue his coaching career however he sees fit, but we all don’t have to agree with those decisions. I don’t really understand the draw for him or STA; it feels like jamming a square peg into a round hole just because you can.east hockey wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 9:46 pmAfter what East hockey was before he got there and what he made of it, your respect/disrespect is moot. Re: Mike Randolph
If the man wants to keep coaching, then by golly, the man should keep coaching. I sincerely doubt it has anything to do with the record book...coaches coach.
Re: Mike Randolph
But STA? Really? I lose the justification at that point. Now you are a mercenary at place…..I will leave it there.east hockey wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 9:46 pmAfter what East hockey was before he got there and what he made of it, your respect/disrespect is moot. Might have been worth it just to see the reaction here.

Re: Mike Randolph
Question, if Mike is/was so innocent and the reason he left was strictly parental pressure; what did the investigation ever turn up? I know, I know its not public; BUT Mike must know the findings. Why hasnt he held another press conference to show everyone?

Re: Mike Randolph
He doesnt know the outcome, as soon as he resigned they stopped the investigation and swept it under the rug. Which I think in the end is what the school wanted

Agree! Why walk away from something he enjoys.
Yes, the ones that sandbag for a decade. STA is now where they belong and I enjoy watching them play again...

Re: Mike Randolph
How old was Willard Ikola when he decided to retire? If memory serves he coached high school hockey for over 30 years, and I don't recall folks calling for him to retire.
