First time seeing either team this year. Moorhead was the better team through the first half of the first period and then Grand Rapids picked up their play. Moorhead scored first, but Rapids with 3 in a row. The goalie for Moorhead looks lost tonight as he's let in some softies. Rapids almost had a 4th with 10 seconds left...

Methodically, Moorhead took over and eventually had a 4-3 lead. But Grand Rapids is able to eek out another goal late and were headed to OT at 4-4.


Roseau and Wayzata were tied 2-2 after 2, last I looked.

Tough deal for Rapids. They end up playing OT against a very good Spuds team and then get Hill in the afternoon tomorrow.

Very entertaining game. Both teams ebbed and flowed throughout with Rapids looking better at the end and in OT but the spuds capitalized on their lone scoring chance. Rapids played pretty soft to open the 2nd and 3rd periods, both times Moorhead scored on the opening shift, that needs to get cleaned up. GR was missing a top 3 forward, Nelson, from an incident at the end of the last game. The lines were pretty jumbled including having a starting D man replace him. Quick turn around to battle a rested Hill Murray squad this afternoon.
