5-2 Wayzata win. Didn’t see the game, but didn’t see that result coming and not sure many others did. Shocking result.

More luck than anything I had that upset on the radar cause I figured Wayzata is the type. I think someone once said about Wayzata vs Edina is if it's close they could pull it off lol.

Jeez I looked at Wayzata's season schedule and holy s--t was it difficult. At 14-11-2 they basically have faced every top level team.

Kinda bored with another Edina vs. Wayzata section final but should be a good game. I like Wayzata's game down the stretch and could see them punching their ticket in St. Paul.

I'm not surprised at the result; I am shocked by the score. We've seen this plenty of times, where an up and coming program has these growing pains. Reaching #1 at the end of the season, that's pretty head stuff for team like this; it's easy to look past your next opponent to the one after that. Once your coach has had success at a high level, he knows how handle kids in pressure situations, like when you've got #1 on your back, or facing a perennial power in a one and done situation. A veteran coach can put together a plan against a team like that, and if his kids perform, this is the result. Coaching experience counts for a lot, as does knowing your part of a program that has performed at a high level in the past.

The Trojans (and you could argue Edina) play the type of game that is always dangerous this time of year. Fast, heavy and great in the defensive end. O’Leary always has his team ready to play in these situations.

Any thoughts on the Shakopee loss? No disrespect to Chan but that’s gotta be tough for Shakopee to swallow. Another disappointing end for them.

I have always thought Chan takes on the personality of Coach Bloomfield. They play with energy, grit, and belief. They brought the game to Shakopee in the first period with their physical play. Helps that they scored first. Shakopee controlled the 2nd and the 3rd but could only solve the goaltender Jackson once. He was phenomenal.

Chan's goalie was the MVP of the game. Probably Shako's last run for a while, they graduate a lot of seniors. They kind of feel snakebit. Quite a bit of talent but only had the state tourney appearance last year to show for it. Also, a testament to a tough section. Tonka could be tested if Chan gets the same level of goaltending in the final.
