dont get ur hopes up "gopher rejects" i dont see the 4 seed or the 5 seed possibly pulling off upsets against the gophers there playing too good right now

Very happy to see my Dogs go into Denver and move on. I was telling someone before the series that for whatever reason UMD always plays well in Colorado, whether it's CC or DU. In my years of living in Colorado, they always played well there.

And yeah, if they get by St. Cloud I don't think they can beat Minnesota. Still, they beat Wisconsin once (although they were at home) and DU on the road so it's possible. I'd love to see them beat the GopHERS, especially after not scoring during the series in Minneapolis a couple of weeks ago.

Bobby G and the Huskies have been tough of late... it should be a great game and I feel that the winner of this game will beat the Gophers.. just a hunch... ok more like a big wish because I want to see the Huskies make the NCAA tourney. Is the game between SCSU and UMD being televised and is so, what time and channel... thanks

As an UMD alumni... I am with you hawkfan... Go Bulldogs! If the Bulldogs can beat Denver at DU, They can beat the Gophers at a neutral site! I have to believe!!! No running out of gas... I am all for UMD getting an NCAA bid! That might mean five, count them, five WCHA teams in the NCAA's! I think Minn, Wisc, CC and ND are already a lock for the NCAA's...

GO BULLDOGS!!!

CC is on the bubble and in serious trouble after losing to Jan Brady State. Their current Pairwise ranking is 14. Add in the winners of the two "lesser" conferences (AHA and CHA) who are ranked lower, and you'd need nobody else below CC to go on a run. Specifically, Dartmouth and Northern Michigan.

I'd give the Tigers, at best, a 25% chance of getting in. There's just too much that has to line up exactly right for them to get a bid.

Right now, Minnesota and Wisconsin are locks. North Dakota is also almost certainly in. The WCHA could (and probably will) have three entrants to the NCAA tournament.

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
Egomaniac since 2006

Kind of incredible they finish 2nd in the WCHA and won't make the NCAAs. UMD might have killed their chances.

DU

Post by ThunderStorm22 »

DU finishing number two in the WCHA and quite possibly not getting into the NCAA's seems to be on everyone's mind and rightfully so... The WCHA is arguably the best conference in College Hockey and their second best team probably will not get into the NCAA's...

I really want and expect UMD to get in to the NCAA's. Maybe they are our only hope for a four bid?

If SCSU beats UMD and beats the Gophers i think they have a good chance, maybe even if they beat UMD, lose to the Gophers and win the 3rd place game. It's an outside chance, but its possible

SCSU has to beat UMD and the U of M to make the NCAA's if you use the the PairWise Predictor at USCHO.com.

With Brian Elliot back in nets for the Badgers, the whole team seems to play differently, and they've won their last 6 after really hurting in January. They are for real. But I agree that the Gophs are playing "unreal hockey" right now, and don't see them losing. So incredibly skilled. Gophs by 3-1 should they meet.
