College Commitments
Is there a single link to go to see who has committed to colleges? There is a site for boys (Link) that seems pretty comprehensive. Is there a similar site for girls?

Re: College Commitments
When you get to the USCHO D-I recruit thread, scroll down...may be on 2nd / 3rd page to a post by the member "gano." gano summarizes all the info regarding recruits posted by the various teams fans and builds a nice / informative / complete list for all teams.

Re: College Commitments
Nothing official for UW-Stevens Point yet. I'm going to wait for the Coach to announce, should be in a couple of weeks.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... eyfan09 at: 4/25/06 12:15 pm

Shannon Miller
The Minnesota tax payers and local in state kids are really getting a great reward from UMD.
They recruited who, a Canuck, two Sweeds & a Fin?
Great work.
Drazan leaves cuz she doesn't like "girls" and Miller says she can't get along. I say Drazan is smart to move on. UMD women's hockey doesn't play by the same rules as the rest of us.

Re: Shannon Miller
When you remove the private school kids, Shattuck and the T-Breds -- not a boat load of MN public HS kids - maybe one kid per conference?

Re: Shannon Miller
Also - let's not be confused. Often if you have the $ to go out east, you have the $ to play TB & SSM, so this can skew the #'s sometimes... Not every public kid with similar ability has the capability (even with Fin Aid) to go to the Ivy's, etc.

Re: Shannon Miller
I wouldn't be the slightest surprised if she ends up wearing purple-silver-black in the MIAC. Yes, I know she has ability-skills well above the MIAC. Just wouldn't be surprised.

Has there been any word from the MIAC schools on their 06-07 class?

Didn't I once see mention of Breanna Scavo also signed on to Gustavus or was that speculation? I always wondered how two highly skilled freshman goalies would co-exist. Anyone know where she ended up?

Nice recruiting year for St. Thomas. Great school.

Or at least, the only reason? Miller just dumped a bunch of what she (and the Duluth press) seem to like to refer to as "marginal" players...before, or shortly after going north and overseas to grab replacements. I'm also curious to see how many, if any of those players are your somewhat typical UMD Euro 22 year old "freshman" with years of national team experience. I believe Martin is what I like to call a true freshman. For the record, I don't care in the least where a player is from...but I'm a proponent of having true freshman as "rookies" in the conference. I'm aware that's not particularly important to many. There's nothing in the rules against 22 or older players competing as freshman, it's just not a program philosophy I agree with...don't think much of it at all. Maine in HE seems to have much the same approach. One very plausible reason for those events (in my opinion) was the failure of those "released" players to secure sufficient recognition for Miller and put her in the limelight which she seems to have an ego driven lust for (that's also my opinion) by winning a national title. I've long had the impression at UMD it's not about the players...it's about Miller. If you can't already tell, I'm not a real big fan of Shannon Miller. I'm just saying the possibility that Ms. Drazan didn't care for these circumstances could also be part of the picture (the shedding of players that is). Just something to consider...I don't know one way or the other.

Best stop there before I pi** too many people off with what could be called radical opinions...if it isn't already too late.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ookyone at: 4/28/06 5:07 pm

I am surprised to see Drazen move on, but it for the best. She is a great kid and deserves nothing but the best. Good luck Rachel!
