Sad Day

Being a Catholic myself, I'm saddened by the death of Pope John Paul II. He was not afraid to stand up for his beliefs and those of the Roman Catholic Church. It is a sad day, at least for me. <p>AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!<br></p><i></i>

Ditto, i was saddened to hear that he died. He was a great man though. Do you know what time he died at? When i went to bed last night he was alive, and i didnt check this morning. <p></p><i></i>

Yeah, do you know what time that is in Mn? Yeah, the last i heard he was in serious condition when i went to bed, i figured he didnt have long. Pretty Sad stuff...... <p></p><i></i>

I was watching coverage last night and I thought it was so erie watching just the two lit windows in the backround where he was dying. After reading the book Angels and Demons you really wonder what goes on behind those walls.. And yes it is really sad to see him go, not just a great catholic, but great man. <p></p><i></i>

The book is by the same author of The Da Vinci Code, it just takes place in the Vatican and is very interesting. <p></p><i></i>

It is a sad day, and me being Catholic makes it even worse. I hate when anyone dies, but this hurt even more! It was really hard finding out at work today. The one thing that makes me happy is knowing he is in heaven now, where he belongs. It was a while ago when I read it, but it talked about the underground tunnels that hold many artifacts and the soldiers of the vatican. Sorry I dont have many specifics, maybe someone else could fill you in. <p></p><i></i>

I am not a catholic nor a big fan of the catholic church, but I am saddened by the death of not only a great man, but a great Christian man. At least in my life time, the Pope has always been a man of God and a man of campassion (Christ-like). John Paul II was that and, as stated earlier, outspoken on the way the people of the world should act, regardless of their faith or lack of it.<br> <p></p><i></i>

The DaVinci Code, the second of the two and the more famous, is a simple story of the search for the Holy Grail. What complicates it, is just what is the Holy Grail and, of course, the clues that identify it. It does not offer a very good view of the catholic church and thus the calling for banning by catholics by a bishop (or maybe he was even a cardinal). Primarily set in France and Engalnd.<br><br>Angels and Demons centers on a plot of long ago extinct society to make the catholic church look bad. Primarily set in Rome and the Vatican, it is very interesting in that in takes the reader around historical parts of Rome and intot the Vatican and the politics of the Vatican. It has a twist to it (as well as a lot of action)that makes it an interesting read. Altough some chaacters are made to look bad, it does not take a bad view of the catholic church.<br><br>Thesame main character is in both novels. Kind of a 'dick and Jane' writer as noted by a friend of mine, but the story and the action (and the history) make it worth the read. <p></p><i></i>
