Buffalo isn't anything special. Their district isnt tough at all compared to the city leagues. Congrats to them winning their districts, but i would like to see how they play against some of the higher ranked city teams.

#2 is their only star. He's a defensmen but he likes to skate it up the ice any chance he gets. And he will normally stickhandle around anyone in his path and most likely score. Take the body on him and you will be fine. They also have 1 or 2 forwards that are pretty quick and can move the puck well, but nothing spectacular. Average goalie along with the team.

But still a fairly good team overall.

#2 is the real deal. He is a big strong D-man and can put up some good numbers. He was in all 3 of Buffalo's points in the game I watched him (2G, 1A).

I think they are a top 20 type team, but I only saw them play once, so who really knows!

I have seen them 4 times this season...They tied Jefferson and their 1st line center made one of the prettiest moves I have seen all year...also heard he broke his arm and was out a while...him and another forward make their first line very solid...I was also very impressed with their defense in the games I have seen...No 2 is good but they also have a couple other kids that can play....I heard they also tied Eden Prairie and beat Wayzata...I watched them lose to Orono but had em down 2-1 going into third...Nice team...they won't get embarrassed if they make State..

I saw them get beat by Hutchinson 4-2 in their last district game. Hutchinson played physical agianst them and Buffalo didn't respond very well. Number 2 is a god player but can be taken off his game just by playng a little body on him. Also saw that their fans were very poor sports as well. Thye should have lost their fair play point due to their parents. But I have yet to see an official make that call as the rules state.

Yes Hutch beat Buffalo...that was a shock...However, Buffalo did outshoot Hutch 50-16 in the game...Hutchinson goaltender played very well and can be dangerous...Maybe Buffalo is nothing and should be overlooked in this tourney...

Yes..I am a Buffalo parent but did not attend the Hutch game. I assume GR80 is from Hutch and wonder if he is the same guy who was tossed from coaching in District 5 because he was stacking his mite team with squirts? Hutch fans are the worst fans of all and this is simply the pot calling the kettle black...From what I heard Hutch needed the win to assure themselves of second place in the district and Buffalo slept walked through the game...still mustering 50 shots to Hutch 16...couple of early soft goals did Buffalo in and an empty netter at the end made it 4 to 2...if Buffalo and Hutch played 100 times Buff would win 95...

Buffpuck, since this is your first post and you weren't at the game why would you take a shot for any reason?

From what I've seen, we could have a pot calling the kettle black in any town from any district. Typical hockey parents would be the term many people would use. You are proving that with your post.

I guess it's a good thing for Hutch they don't give team points for the most shots in a game??

Big Curve...just stating facts...I am a referee at the d3 level in basketball and understand your distain for parents in youth sports as I have spent many a saturday afternoons at youth events wondering the same thing. Never did I say that Buffalo parents were perfect...i did say that Hutch parents are as bad as any crew i have witnessed and that one of their parents stacked a mite team with squirts and that Buffalo did outshot Hutch badly....Being a hockey fan you should know that upsets like this happen...I would imagine Holy Angels would beat Apple Valley 95 out of 100 times too!

These are facts and not a shot...The Hutch kids won and deserve it...but as far as the better team...probably not... Additionally, I would suggest leaving the profession of Officiating yourself if you are so concerned with parental attitudes...

BP,

It takes a few more posts to get to the maturity level that normally takes place at this forum. Don't worry, it will come, painfully, but it will come.

The comment about the "facts" and the Hutch coach stacking a mite team with squirts is simply an urban legend, NOT facts. Additionally, you might want to check your "facts" if you are so concerned about them.

Sorry Buffpuck, but the only facts I see from your earlier information were shots on goal.

The rest was conjecture and rock throwing. But where would message boards be without that??

ATH, sounds like your a little bitter about the mite stacking incident? Might it have been you that did it? As for maturity and facts I might suggest by reviewing your posts that I find little of either...

BC...Let me get my crayons so you can better understand:

Fact One: Yes there was a coach in Hutch Association that stacked his mite team with Squirts and was banished from coaching.
Fact Two: My opinion of Hutch fans is that they are the worst group in D5
Fact Three: Buffalo did outshoot Hutch 50 -16
Fact Four: it is my opinion that you should leave officiating if your concerned about parental attitudes.

Again, just stating facts...

BP (or maybe BS might be better)

You're right, it was me!

After I found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, I formed a mite team, it was however, stacked with Bigfoot offspring. We traveled to each game in a sleigh that was pulled by a unicorn. The highlight of the year was the Bermuda Triangle tournament, luckily though we finished before midnight, or we all would have turned back into pumpkins!

BP, thanks for that clarification with the crayons. It looks like you are a natural with them, or maybe use them on a daily basis?

Fact one: I don't think you are correct. But that probably happens often in your dealings with others. Some sort of proof would be nice. Not that it matters a lot, but you seem to be stuck on it.

Fact two: opinon not fact

Fact three: fact- one of four is a good percentage for you.

Fact four: My problem isn't with the parents. They don't know any better, and the kids learn from them.

You are just one of them. That is a fact.

Your levity makes you a suspect...lol...Everyone in the District is aware of the guy who did this and BC it indeed did happen...ask D5 officials...it was 4 or 5 years ago but the same guy has a kid on the Hutch BA team...makes me 2 for 4...pretty good for me...I know...

Let's leave it at this...The above statements are facts about my opinions?

BC...most officials are parents too if I am not mistaken? I would imagine that to be your situation??? Also, because I am a parent doesn't mean I cannot be rational and objective? I think you are very guilty of stereotyping and lumping everyone into the same basket...like somehow you are above it???

Dasher- I saw them play four times this season...The move the puck well and their number one line is very good and fast. But the real strength to them is their defense...they have three kids who are very solid and play at high level. Not sure about their goalie. I have not seen anyone from d4 this season but from the board posts it appears d4 is much better than d5...so they probably wont be a threat to you guys...

Thanks Frozen. Any idea if it's about the same team as 2 years ago from peewees? Or did they lose a couple to HS? I saw a pretty good Buffalo A PW team two years ago at Regions.

I'd have to say Buffalo is the favorite to come out of this region. They have played a very solid non district schedule and done well. I agree about the pissing contest. email each other, we don't need to read about it
