I think you left out the two of the most important things
in a good hockey game. Best forechecker & backchecker.
We cannot stand lazy hockey players ..........

who would you give these awards to based on their season?
BEST GOALIE- goalie from WBL - no doubt about it.

MVP- Fink - easy - could control a game when he worked

BEST DEFENSEMEN- #5 from WBL. No doubt about it. You won't score.

BEST OVERALL PLAYER- Fink, Buddish, Everson, Persian, Krey

LEADING SCORER- not a good catogory because players play a different number of games. If you play 100 games, you should win by default.

BEST OFFENSIVE DEFENSMEN- ? not sure

MOST VERSITLE PLAYER- Chris Hanson - Orono

PLAYER YOU WOULD WANT WITH 1 MINUTE LEFT- Fink, Persian, Buddish

Re: BANTAM A AWARDS
A little off topic here, but lets see what people think of these.

Best Powerplay-Edina. Edina has some of the most talented kids in the state of Minnesota. The way they move the puck around sets them above everyone else in the state. Boy, they had a kid that could really shoot the puck. #21 I believe it was, he was unreal. Look for them to win it all again this year. Centenial also had a very effective powerplay throughout the season. They had a few kids that could work the puck very well, but had one or two that would throw it off a bit. Still, a very talented group of kids. I hope to see these two teams go at it for years to come in highschool

Best Penalty Kill-Have to go with Maple Grove. #16 and #18 could fly down the ice, but were a little to offensive at times. I would have to give them the award from the amount of goals they have scored throughout the year. There are numerous amounts of teams that have very talented defensive PK's, but I decided to go with the more offensive on this.

Re: BANTAM A AWARDS
Maple grove PK?? That Centennial PP scored like 4 PP goals on Maple Grove, they take too many chances. White Bear Edina or Centennials PK are the best.

! minute left
I think with one minute left in the game i would put someone out there that hasnt scored yet so they could get a goal. i mean if your up8-0 does it make a difference??

Re: ! minute left
I disagree with you guys when you say Trent Johnson is a versatile player. When I watched him play he was a puck hog and he got shut down when he plays against a solid D-team.

pk
wbl's #10 & #16 are good penalty killers when they are out there together. They have at least 20 goals also on pk, and are very rarely scored on.

The best golie in state is by far-kid from wbl owen collette

Re: bantam awards..
yea really. Ive played him and he passes when he thinks it would create a scoring opportunity. Plus, if you were as fast as him and could shoot like him, i think you would take advantage of that and burn anyone in ur path.......... i would.
