I heard some guy talking and I thought he said he was from Washburn and his name was Dan. He was telling some other guy with a Como jacket that all of the "a" teams in the TC district were going to Play "B" next year so as they can have a chance at the state tournament. Does anyone know the facts?

I've checked and if you look Owatonna had 2 girls teams do fairly well at state this year. If you look back Owatonna & Albert Lea have had some pretty good teams in the past, also Rochester was in the same region with them years ago.
The way I look at it Owatonna faced the best from the start. Took it on the chin from Edina (favored to win it all) and then took on Blaine (Consolation Champions 2006). Looking at the scores DE and Moorhead wouldn't have done any better than Owatonna. Owatonna should get alot of credit for doing what they did w/ 10 kids and Owatonna's hockey program.

No offense...Blaine wasn't that good so don't play the Blaine card. Yes, they were in state....blah blah blah....but other teams were better. Orono took 3rd in state coming out of the Silver Region a few years back. I think they're peewee team did very well a couple of years ago in state too.

That's true. Did your team lose to anyone they shouldn't have..or was 'that team that beat you that one time' better too?

Every year the silver region would send one team to the state and every year they were the 4th seed from the gold, which meant they got the maroon 1st seed every year. This was Mn Hockey's way of equallity. Granted some of the teams have been weak ,but if you look back to when they had quality teams they would get beat by one or two goals in the first game. Who knows if they werenot the 4th seed those years maybe they would have been in the semis or finals, Any way this is all changing and should be exciting
