Players To Watch At the X
Who will be some of the players to watch at the X-cel center?

players to watch
the walters boys from hibbing have been playing outstanding hockey in the playoffs.

also the 1st line from orono will smith, glen ylitalo and pat dynan have been together for over a year and are fun to watch

Re: players to watch
look for ssp's forwards pilot, lamana, and stalock along with their goalie. They also have one good defensmen in #19 I'm not sure of the name.

Re: Players To Watch At the X
Brian Lee #22 for the spuds is a very good defensemen. I think he had 3 assists in yesterdays game against tech. This is a little off topic here but at the spuds tech game yesterday it was 5-0 when tech scored their first goal. Did anybody notice how ridiculous the tech celebration was considering the score was 5-1 at that point. I don't mean just the players, all though there was 1 tech player that lost at least 1 glove in the "we just won the stanley cup celebration" but the tech student section started chanting sieve and holding up sieve signs and going crazy. Do teams and fans feel that intimidated by the spuds they go nutso for 1 goal? The spud student section started to chant and point "Scoreboard". You know what I mean?

Re: players to watch
grab a warroad roster..and pick one..haha ok not one..but they have a star studded line up.

TOM GOROWSKY..leading in points this year..Centennials match up with Holy Angels on thursday will be a great match.

The walters boys are good players..but i dont think will particularily stand out as much as a lot the states best.

Re: Players To Watch At the X
#16 Barriball for AHA, and #19 Carman. Both players are explosive and only sophomores. Oh and let us not forget #9 Eric Johnson.

Future Gophers?
This is copied from a thread on prideonice.com, courtesy of Iceburg who posted this.

Don’t know for sure who the staff may be considering, but there are several players that could wind up in Maroon and Gold at some point
Centennial has junior defenseman R.J. Anderson and sophomore forward Ryan Flynn both of whom have been heavily discussed on this board.

Holy Angels has a couple of sophomores, defenseman Erik Johnson and forward Mike Carman with a lot of potential

Brian Gifford is a big strong forward from Moorhead that could be a prospect after some junior. Defenseman Jon Ammerman will play for a top team.

Breck forward Blake Wheeler is the one guy in the tournament that most people seem pretty sure the Gophers are chasing.

Warroad defenseman Kyle Hardwick is another player to keep in mind.

I’m just listing players that could be potential Gopher’s down the line, so I’m not listing anyone that’s committed to another school. There’s a lot of other players worth watching, I’m just throwing out a few names to try to answer your question.

Warroad standouts
Let's be realistic here. You've just listed nine players off the Warroad roster as potential tournament stars. If this was true they should have beaten both Moorhead and Edina 10-0 during the regular season and LOW 20-0 in the sections. Seems like some people up there are legends in their own minds.

oletimer
Have you seen Warroad play?
or LOW or Moorhead?
Warroad has many good hockey players that could be the star of the tournament.
LOW had maybe 4 that would have filled that bill but played extremely well last Thursday in EGF.
and Moorhead has as many as Warroad that could be the player of the tourney.

BUT if I were to lay a bet on who will impress the most people I would bet on Oshie (second pick would be Robbie Dee).

At the AA level - East's Phil Johnson.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... liott70 at: 3/7/04 4:48 pm

Re: Warroad standouts
Ok..so maybe nine are not all tournament first teamers..but i will be willing to bet that 3 are. go to dents page..and i think you will be surprised at how high they are ranked...whether it be by class..or just overall position.
TJ is next years mr hockey. Hardwick will be 1st all tourney team..if not 2 years in a row. Hasbargen is another great defenseman. before you say taht they are self proclaimed...go watch the team.

Brian Lee
Its not a rumor that Brian Lee has committed to the Sioux. There was an article in the Fargo paper about him committing with his reaction and everything.
