CELL PHONES AT THE XCEL

Post by bisketboy »

LAST NIGHT AT A PARENT/COACH MEETING WE WERE TOLD THAT CELL PHONES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE XCEL. IS THIS TRUE.

Every game I've ever attended at the X, I've had my cell phone and seen hundreds of other people talking on their phones, so I don't believe this is the policy - unless it's something new. It would be almost impossible to enforce unless security confiscated everyone's phone at the door. Can you imagine the mess that would create.

Bottom line - I wouldn't worry about it.

I've had mine in there before. Not sure what the issue is here, unless they are just trying to cut down on the annoying Puck Bunnies who's only reason for being at the games is to be seen there, and talk with their friends on their phones the entire game.
Scheids
(A legend in his girlfriend's mind.)

Phones

This probably is for the players partaking in the event. It's common, with the addition of picture phones, that they are NOT allowed in locker rooms. So I am not surprised they ae not allowed in for players or coaches.

I think you will find that the MSHSL has rules about players having cell phones in the locker rooms (afraid of the cells that take pics). This year Section Directors had to enforce this policy.

Cell Phones

Trivia: When building the Excel, they added more cell antennas than any building ever built to ensure great reception anywhere in the building (to promote the Ex for business conventions). I think they have something like 200 antennas in the building. My lame cell phone works perfect in the Excel!
