Bad Hair Day

Post by MajinHockey »

I'd like to officially nominate the SSP team for having the sweetest mullets of the tournament. Criminy, I thought I was watching an episode of "Welcome Back, Kotter" when watching the SSP players line-up. On that note, I thought Vinny Barbarino had a great first period, but Coach Kaplan should intensify his team's forecheck

Majin

I totally agree there is no way a team can match those. Great job SSP.
Moorhead State Champs 2004

mullets

Post by benc14 »

I beg to differ, Cambridge had the best mullets of any team in the entire state. Not many people saw them though because they lost out right away to GR, bu they had by far the nicest cuts ive seen in a while.

but as far as the best mullets at state, i'd have to give it to ssp

bleach

Post by MajinHockey »

I see that Warroad (for the past several years) has some fairly horrible bleach jobs going on. They all kinda vaguely look like Ponyboy Curtis from the Outsiders. "We'll do it for Johnny man, we'll do it for Johnny!!!"

Majin

I have to agree with benc14 (Are you from Grand Rapids or something?) Cambridge did have sweet mullets. Escpecially their goalie<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> . It seems that the mullets are starting to make a comeback.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

now, lets compare the haircuts of the spuds and the elks.

the spuds are a bunch of clean-cut, natural hair colored kids with no players with mullets or long hair

the elks are a bunch of uglies with jet-black hair, a kid with dreads, a kids with a mowhawk, and the rest of the team with long hair.

i'd say there is quite the difference there

MajinHockey, Stay golden man! Damn that was a funny analogy. I think Burnsville started the whole bleach thing way back when. Got to tell you though, haven't seen all teams introduced but the Elk River kids looked ridiculous. I thought I was watching SLAPSHOT or something. I realize they're kids, but c'mon. I'd hope it was just their play-off look.

DE took the prize last night. Mullet's with a five-O-clock shadow gave all of us the best laugh since Dino Ciccorelli mooned his neighbors. Hockey is all about style, and the lack of it.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"> The Hanson's would have been proud.

Daves a killer, Daves a mess

majinhockey,

i agree, i started a post called the "ugliest team" which was meant to express what your post says. i should have called it something else as a tongue in cheek thing as that doesn't go over well electronically. yesterday's games, actually a couple teams faces were not shown on tv because of bad coverage of some sort so my final vote isn't in but it will be hard to beat ssp. can't wait to see it again in about 45 minutes...

Tournament Stylin'

Post by DoRight101 »

I'm sure the Elks were just showing their team unity with the all-devil worshipper look. (Except the kid with the mohawk must have wanted someone to notice him <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> )

All that team was missing was their studded black leather dog collars. The parents of the Spuds were afraid it was going to rub off on their clean-cut kids!

no comparison

Post by MajinHockey »

I thought East had some nice mullet-tude going on, but it still lacked the flowing grace that seemed to dominate SSP's domes. However, I particularly enjoyed the East player that had the sides of his head shaved ala one Robbie Van Winkle, that one got a good laugh from the crowd. To be fair, East had a more 80's classic mullet, whereas the SSP kids went with a less deliberate approach, more of a Dogtown and Z Boys look. As one Lard-A** Hogan once said, "I declare this contest a draw."

Majin
