Albert Lea players and coaches HOO RAH
I tip my hat to the players and coaches for making it to the State tournament. So many teams before you have tried and failed. Now that your there why not win it. Breck can be beaten look at common opponents Lourdes had a one goal game with Breck and SPA lost by 10 and AL beat SPA 9-2. AL is the under dog but thats good they have nothin to lose. You will have so many alumni watching you all the kids that have played before that now live out of town will be there watching, so many it will be great to see so many from way back that now live in the cities or where ever coming togather that used to play for Roy Nystrom. Go Tigers

burst your bubble
Hate to burst your bubble Upucker, but if Albert Lea stays within 3 goals it will be a moral victory....
Kudos to the tigers for winning Section 1, but as we all know, 1 is weak, Lake of the Woods, Blake, Hermantown, and about 10 others are better and don't get the chance to play on the X-cel ice.
I'll be praying for your miracle.....

Re: burst your bubble
Uncle Puckhead
Prayer not needed. You obviously have that Cities Mentality thinking. Thats the thinking that any team south of Burnville still skates with double runners and uses willow branches for sticks and a puck made of cow pie. Lets make a movie call it Miracle On Ice III thats when the worst section known to man beats the best of the private schools. Lets hope Breck has some of this CITIES MENTALITY. By the way I will be at the game you will notice me I will be wearing overalls with John Deere jacket and straw hat on.

It's nice to see Albert Lea and Nystrom getting into the state touranment and it has been along time coming. Honestly, I don't see much hope for them against Breck. You can't say that Lourdes only lost to Breck by alittle bit and so and so beat so and so and AL matches up with Lourdes so it'll be a game. I'm anticipating a Breck vs. Warroad final(rematch of 2000). The biggest difference between the two schools is that AL is excited to go to the state touranment and just skating at Excel, staying in a hotel and being on tv is that is proabably be on there mind. Breck is focused to winning the state touranment(coming out of 5A in itself is quite the accomphlishment). It'll be a good game and I would love it if AL pulls the upset but, realistically I think Breck will come flying out of the gates and cruise to the semifinals. Prove me wrong Albert Lea.

Re: al
Congrats to Albert Lea for winning a very hard faught game Friday night which was probably the best game I saw all year. But the Freshman in goal did look shakey and like he got lucky on quite a few saves. I can believe Breck is quite a bit deeper than the 2 lines that Albert Lea has and agree that keeping it within 3 goals will be pretty tough. But I hope they prove us all wrong and get southern minnesota hockey some respect...but its going too be very very tough.

upucker,
I'll be at the game too! I'll be the one pulling up on a big green and yellow tractor with Deere on it. I drive it down from International Falls every year for the tourney.
As far as my coveralls go, I leave them at home because they have cow and pig manure on them. Last year the guy I sat next to complained, so I missed a game and had to go to Fleet Farm and buy some new ones!
Final score
Breck 8
Albert Lea 2
You heard it hear first.
Finals
Breck 3
Warroad 1
Good Luck to Albert Lea, and I hope you have as much fun as I do down there.

My tractors bigger than yours
Uncle puckhead
If your driven a John Deere you better get going the tournament starts on Wednesday, Hope you have a cab on that green machine oh I forget there tough way up there in Ifalls. You probably are adorning a beard on face no doubt to keep the frigid wind from frost bite. As for coveralls I will be keeping mine on with manure covered rubbers cause I will be sitting in the middle of the fur coats in the Breck section all 300 of them. I'm gonna give them fur coaters good reason to turn up those noses.

upucker,
My tractor is an 8 wheel drive diesel, it gets 4 miles to the gallon without the plow.....no cab, but I got a rumble seat in the back for my gal.....
It's a chick magnet....
Have fun in that Breck section, but be careful, one of them thar coats might just jump up and bite ya....
Good luck to AL, I'm prayin for an upset...

bringing the dog
upucker,
As long as that dog is female and has a long coat, she'll fit right in the Breck section...... nobody will even notice!

True Love
Uncle puckhead
Haven't you left yet? you better get goin game starts at noon Wed. I'm bringin CHEWEY I think he can now find that one true love hes been lookin for all his life in the Breck section. CHEWEY is a male but i'm hopin noone discovers what gender he is. He does walk upright due to a unfortunate snow blower accident, he lost both front legs, there goes his career as a professional boot hockey player.

true love
Hey Upucker,
That was a good one..... Hey, my tractor is in the shop,
so I'm gonna have to bring my mule team down. Think I can get them in. If anyone has 2 extra tickets, I'll be lookin to scalp a couple for my mules......
I've got an idea for CHEWEY, shave his butt and teach him to walk backwards, and he'll fit right in the Breck section.

Where's Chewey?
Hey Upucker,
I'm standing outside of the X-cel right now with my girls, Sara & Emily. Where are you & Chewey? Do you know of any hotels that cater to mules?
I looking for one with hay and oats on the menu?
PS, I brought my old bibs from last year, and I just scalped 2 tickets in the Breck section.

Why not?
Why not give them a chance to win this game? Yeah they are out maned all over but things do happen. Breck has its weak point like every other team does, if someone points them out Breck could fall. I still put my money on Breck makeing the finals against Warroad but I look for the Warriors D to take the game over and shut down Breck, LOW used speed to stick with Warroad and Breck has that but not close to LOW speed from what i have been told from some refs. Warroad 5-2 over Breck

Hay & oats
Uncle puckhead
Thats the problem runin those mules hard they will break ya pocket book, Should of brought some feed wich ya, hay is way too expensive up der in da cities. As for me and Chewey we be at Tom Rieds at 11:00 tomorrow (thats Wednesday) Tom told me himself he was fixin some grits up special for CHEWEY, I think he said somethin about chili as to get him real good and gassy for dem fur coaters I guess Tom is pullin for the under dogs from way down south, but shhh he don't want dem city slickers to know hes got a business to run.

do you understand now?
Sorry upucker,
The highlight of the game was CHEWEY urinating on the cheerleaders. He took a nice bite out of that fan with the fur on too!
They wouldn't let my mules in, so I'm taking my bat & ball and going home. Hope to see you next year, same time, same place.
Do you understand now what I meant when I said
"Miracle" Breck IS good, I've watched them destroy the northern teams early, Lourdes and Blake, and it's going to take a great effort by Warroad to beat them.
Hats off to Albert Lea on a fine season!

this thread
I was skimming through this thread and all I could think of was Kenny Chesney singing SHE THINKS MY TRACTORS SEXXXY!!!!!!

Breck is good
Uncle puckhead
Yes they are good but Albert Lea did have a game 1-1 five minutes into the second period and shots were even 20-20 at one point. But Albert Lea going with 2 lines, they got tired and after 5-1 they gave up. The freshman goalie wasn't prepared for the patience the forwards had with the puck, but he has 3 more years he will be better for playing this game. Breck definitely had skill and just plain more depth.

Plz
Quit bitchin with the Austin pussies, and tell me if AL would be the @#%$ next year with a good goalie? maybe great goalie?

RE;plz
YES. yes they will be there next year they are only dropping 4 seniors. Have 1 maybe 2 kids of the bantams that will fill shoes. They will be back but we don't recruit so you won't be seeing any new faces from another town or wherever like Breck or Blake gets each year.
