They only lose three seniors, however there is some speculation on this board that some younger players will be leaving as well. They return many key players like Wheeler, Dee, and Richards. They will have a very senior-dominated team next year with somewhere around 15.

Blake
This year, the team was very senior dominated. They will be hurting without their three Mr. Hockey candidates among many other good players. They do return some good underclassmen like Patera and Louwerse and I have a feeling they will be getting some new kids for next year. Goaltending may be an issue as I am not sure if they have someone to fill Kowalkowski's shoes.

Totino-Grace
This year was a rebuilding year for Totino. They had a pretty good young team. They may surprise some people next year. But I don't know a whole lot about them

Benilde
Benilde lost some important seniors like Battani and Friesen. They do return some young talent like Jaskowiak. They also have other young players that will jump into the lime light next year.

St. Louis Park
St. Louis Park is losing many important players from this year's team like Martinson, Rabine, Bayers, Edwall, etc. They do have some good sophomores (next year juniors), but that will not be enough to carry their team. Goaltending will be a big issue.

5A Predictions
1. Breck
2. Blake
3. Benilde
4. Totino
5. SLP

Breck 05

Post by atthepoint »

I spoke with Breck's AD around Christmas and told me that they did not admit any new hockey players for next year. I learned from a friend that they do have a new top math student coming in 05 or 06 who is one of the top Pee Wee players in the state. His parents didn't emphasize that he played hockey as that seems to be a negative there lately, and surprise! they want him to go there for the education.

SSP

My sources are telling me that the media darling of the A tourney (Mr. Stalock) will be playing in the USHL next year. Most likely Pilot will be going also. You can probaly take SSP out of that projectd top 10.

Class A Predictions

Post by Hillfan »

Just some predictions, but I think many are up for grabs.

1A- Albert Lea probably, only 4 seniors leaving, both goalies back
2A- A Duluth Team
3A- Up for grabs, I think SSP will be down next year
4A- Little Falls, I don't know about Wadena having their year again
5A- Breck, love the way that team plays, don't forget the other teams though. Blake shouldn't be bad but from the way it looks, they are losing plenty of seniors. SLP, Benilde should be dangerous. Also Totino coming back?
6A- Orono, like their style too
7A- Hibbing again possibly, seems like they make it most years
8A- Warroad as always, but Lake of the Woods should be dangerous

3A

Simley wont be good unless they get some good recruits to their team next year.

I'd like to have someone confirm about Stalock and Pilot from SSP. The announcers at the tourney talked about Stalock being a 3 sport athlete, so would he really leave HS? Also, after watching the tournament i'd say Pilot could definately use another year of HS hockey before juniors.

In 3A if everyone is back I think it will be the same story as this year... SSP a "slight" favorite but Lourdes, Red Wing, and STA all having the ability to compete with anyone in the section.
