Cenntennial

Yeah thats a good one. The best players from the state against one team. They arent that good. Maybe when moorhead wins state next year it will bring you back down to reality.

i honestly have my money on you being someone wiht their head up their @ss. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

There are a few variables you have to take into consideration. Throw these showcase kids together, and have them play a team that has played together for years, and it could be a mismatch. give them..a week...10 days and it wouldnt be fair. Centennial doesnt have the depth to match 4 lines all with top kids in the state. Hey..you won the state tournament, so have about 100 other teams, and ill bet more than half of those have done so by a bigger margin than Centennial. they are a good hockey team, but they dont need anyone else goin around tooting their horn.

I'd take Centennial

Keep in mind the showcase team isn't the top kids in the state. It's the top seniors who haven't signed scholarships. Big difference.

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes"> Hey ugly, remember those are the top SENIORS who haven't signed yet or won't sign D-1. Doesn't mean some of those kids won't play at a higher level D-3 or Jrs or even D-1, so they are pretty darn good players overall. I agree with Dons you put the showcase kids on the ice for 10 - 14 intense days together it's no contest. Seniors are usually stronger and more mature than Jrs. and Sophs.. Centennial I believe could not match 4 Senior lines and 3 solid defensive pairs. Yeah they WERE a great team this last season and now it's over. They will always be 2004 State AA champs, we've had probably greater teams than this that didn't win the title in the @ 60 year history of the tourney as well as 25 other programs that have won state titles. So until this school is a hockey dynasty or traditional power don't get too hyped up. Remember Blaine a few years back???

Showcase team vs. Centennial

Post by MNPuckster27 »

Lets see Centennial beat Moorhead 1-0 for the championship... and there is what, 1 Moorhead player that made the showcase team (granted there are others who are as good but have committed other places or are underclassmen)

Centennial put together one of the finest seasons in MN history this year... but lets not get carried away. Give the showcase team a few practices and i'd say they beat Centennial by 4-5 goals

There are 2 players from Moorhead on the team and only 6 seniors really played. The rest of the team are juniors.

Enough about the Centennial versus....they are 2004 champs, they will be back to state in years to come. This was not some luck deal. People saw this coming before the season. Look at all the papers in the beginning. But it is over. Let them enjoy the win and see you next year.
