TOP TWELVE!

Post by rave35 »

1. EP red: Only if they dont take Rville and Rave Seriously.
2. Elk River: gonna finish the season strong heading into playoffs.
3. Tartan: Still gonna be #3. Tough team who will bounce back the last week, that will solidify them as #3.
4. EP Black: Its an EP team, you mean to tell me they wont be in the top five?
5. WBL O: stop the slippin, you aer better than what you are playing right now.
6. B'ville: gonna finish the season off well.
7: Roseville: are gonna beat rave by tie breaker or by a point.
8. Rave: Will beat two of the last three teams to play. Need some slippin by Cent, but could happen.
9. Cent: Will slip against Armstrong and does anyone know the score between them and tartan?
10. Edina: finish out strong but may not have enough time or games to en in top eight.
11. WBL B: Goaltending has hurt there stock all year. Will make playoffs but down here for now.
12.Brooklyn Park: I feel these guys will win four of their last five and get in. If not then i give it to Tonka. Either way it will be a struggle for the last spot in.

Rave35, that is your best post in your young Forum Career. I agree with almost everything you say, but i dont see centennial fallin, and i think that as great as our two teams have been playing as of late, we will be battling for that 8 spot and a chance to be one and in. If if finishes like you say, i would love to play tartan again with a chance to go to Regions/JGB STATE.

Rat's MHL playoffs predictions..

Post by RinkRat22 »

Ranked by predicted seeds:
1. Elk River will tie EP Red but win with Goal-Differential
2. EP Red will tie or lose to the Black team
3. EP Black played enough Iowa varsity teams to toughen them up.
4. Tartan finish strong and will go deep into the playoffs
5. WB Orange did expect a ties with Edina, but will still be up here.
6. Burnsville will need to win some good games upcoming.
7. Centennial needs to win a tight game - just once.
8. Roseville you'll get ER to open the playoffs.
9. RAVE you'll have to win more than just one to get to the Regionals
10. Edina toughest 10th seed there is.
11.WB Black strong finish and they should go deeper than expected
12. This might be good: BP or Tonka is going to be here. If BP can win out they'll be #12. If Tonka can pull a couple of upsets they'll be able to dance on the 23rd!

It'll be fun to watch! Interesting picks, for a rat!

Actually they look pretty good. I think EP Red will take #1, though. I thought Burnsville would win 7 in a row and take #2, but if they can't beat Chaska they probably will drop to #6. Especially after the Tiny Titans bury them this weekend!

What Bville puts up vs BP?? I am wondering if they'll win game this weekend? I am sure that they will be better with their top guy leading the way! Bville definitely won't win out, but they'll put up a great fight!

BP

Post by SLP Coach »

Sorry guys, I don't think I can do the positioning right now, but if work is slow this afternoon, I'll try then. It obviously takes looking at the top 12 and all their remaining games.

B'Ville ~ BP:
BP is nothing special, but my guess is that they will be on a mission agaist you. They have the chance (although it is small) to be a playoff team. I would assume that they will put forth their best effort. Also their coach will be back now after a suspension. Like someone told me, keep an eye on #17. He is fast and good with the puck. He'll shoot from anywhere inside the BL. Suggestion: don't hesitate to look at the toe of his stick....my guess is it is still illegal, if he scores in a tight game I would think about calling him on it. ---If they have the same Goalie we played, just take lots of shots. He gives up rebounds and their D tend to screen him for you. Also, when you are breaking out their D tend to hang back quite a bit to prevent the big play. Throw a couple of the boards early to scare them and your breakouts will be a piece of cake for the the rest the game. Chances are you'll get none or few breakaway chances but you can come in on them pretty easy and then have the chance to set up in the zone. I know you guys do that well anyway. Take advantage of that.

Thanks for the info. I hope we show up to play this weekend. We are talking anywhere from a possible 3 seed to an 8 seed depending on how we play this weekend.

BVILLE

Bville,
According to their record they are better on the road that at home. They're 4-2-2 away from BP as opposed to 5-6-1 in "momma's house". (It would be nice if someone could shed some light on the 1/23 game @ Wayzata - no report - perhaps you can find out Bville)

They are pretty quick, move the puck well and crash hard to the net. More of a tough team than a skilled team (ever heard that at this level?) Their Captain is their best player and he can set a tone if you let him. Kinda like you (Bville) have stated, your best player makes or breaks your team - the same for BP. I have only read and heard about you guys, so I can only speculate. Play 'em tough and tight and you should get 2 points.

More tough than skilled at this level? No way! No really, thanks for the info. I have kind of heard that through the grape-vine about their captain. Looking forward to the weekend. It's gunna make my work day go slow, that's for sure.
BVILLe

You'll do fine. I predict you win 2 and drop one. Most likely a 5-3 (open netter) W v BP tonight and a tight 5-4 or 6-5 W v Tartan on Sat. Then you'll have a tough one v WB Orangemen, I think it'll be a good one to watch, but Orange is too powerful.

TOP 8

Post by BVILLEJRGOLD »

With two days left in the regular season this is how the top eight should shape up.

1. Elk River - Better goal diff.
2. EP Black or Red - Big showdown tomorrow night.
3. Burnsville - IFFFFF they beat Tonka tomorrow night
4. EP Black or Red - The loser of tomorrow's game
5. Tartan - Could sneek in at number four but five is more like it.
6. W.B. Orange - They are missing a score on the MHL site. Im assuming the won to move them ahead of Centennial.
7. Centennial - The score for the Tartan game is not on the site. If they beat Tartan move them to #6 and move WBO down to #7.
8. Roseville - The flaming hot "Raidas" Watch out Elks.

Sorry 9-12. I've already take too much time looking up this stuff. Gotta get back to work.

Please feel free to weigh in if I have missed something. I am trying to crunch numbers just so I have an idea of were things will be come Monday.

BVILLE

Burnsville v Wessy's

Post by BVILLEJRGOLD »

I just got the word this morning. We get a 3-0 win. I guess that's what happens when other teams are unwilling to work things out and be a little flexible. If we take care of business tomorrow night the goal diff for that game shouldn't matter.

That Tartan Centennial game is HUGE for seeding.

BVILLE

D10 SUCKS

Post by TartanCoach »

Attention playoff bound Jr. Gold B coaches (especially EPR & B and Burnsville). Here's a good conversation starter for this forum:

As you may know, Tartan filed a protest against Elk River for using too many players. Elk River has 21 players on their roster, suited up 21 against us, and apparently had verbal permission from D10 to play all 21 during games. As you know, per USA Hockey rules a team can have up to 23 players on a roster, but can not suit up more than 20 players per game. You may want to check your score sheets too to see how many you played against.

I received the protest decision today. The MHL ruled in Tartan's favor, but the D10 director then overruled the MHL. I don't know how this is all going to play out, but it could have dramatic implications for the 1-5 positions going into the playoffs. Based on the MHL standings and scores that I've seen reported it appears that either EP team could take 1st, Burnsville could take 2nd, and Elk River could slide to 4th.

So, to CoachGuy, who would you like to play first round? Any preferences?

There's nothing like a little pre-playoff controversy. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">

A rule is a rule....but,

Post by RinkRat22 »

Did all 21 skaters score goals vs Tartan or other teams? The MHL, D10, D8, D6 can give you another W and ER a L, bottom line...you gotta beat the best to be the best! 20, 21, 22 players on the bench is wrong and I agree with the protest, but you're not going to get a detailed report from all 27 teams in JGB to figure out if they did this all year. Like I said earlier today on another string, ER shouldn't be in the B league anyway! Kick out the ELKS!, Kick out the ELKS!...
